Brett Rogers Gets Advice from, and Trains with Josh Barnett

Words of wisdom from former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Josh Barnett, as he helps Brett Rogers prepare to take on the world’s best heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko, at Strikeforce: “Fedor vs. Rogers” at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill., on Nov. 7.

”Keep moving. Never, never stay still. Keep moving, and you’ll always find some way, some pocket, to get out of a bad situation. Especially when it comes to a ground situation.”

    For Rogers this is a win-win. He's an over hyped bum they have been pushing on people not in the know to believe that he's a real deal MMA fighter and a serious contender. He's not! He has 1 respectable win (Arlovski), and that in my opinion would not happen ...again.So....if he does rock Fedor with one of those big punches..and that is entirely possible!...but not likely, he might win and upset the rankings...big time.If he loses it will be "Everyone loses to Fedor, Rodgers is still the real deal."

    I'm American by the way but it has no relevance to who I will be cheering for. I will cheer for Fedor because he's one of my favorite fighters and I enjoy watching him.

    The biggest thing about this match is that Fedor has been in danger dozens of times. Serious danger from serious masters. And he stays calm, turns the tide and finishes fights. It is what makes him so incredible and such and exciting fighter. We have never seen Rogers in danger. So there is no really measure of what he is made of.

    Back then Crocop was number 2. But with all the foot and knee injuries he lost to minor league guys like Gonzage (lost to Werdum twice) and Dos Santwho?

    Now Josh Barnett (youngest UFC HW champ who KOed young Couture in his prime) is number 2!

    I dont get it how this cheater who brought down an entire organisation can even show his face in the US. He is a disgrace to the sport and I dont think this thing should be dealt with lightly. He has cheated before also so I think he is the last person to give advice I rather go to rampage.

    rogers might as well wear a target on his head and everyone can place bets on were the knockout blow is ganna land. rogers isnt on the same level. Hes not even on the level below Fedor.

    rogers should focus on takedown defense and not even worry about the ground game for this fight. there is not enough time to learn the ground to even compare to fedor. Hope that made sense.
