Lesnar and Fedor are among 100 Most Powerful Athletes in the World accoridng to the BusinessWeek magazine

Posted By antong Other News

UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and WAMMA World Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko are MMA representatives in BusinessWeek's magazine TOP 100 list of the most powerful athletes in the world. Fedor ranked #82 as Brock Lesnar is far behind on the 96th spot.

Golfer Tiger Woods, the NBA player LeBron James, golfer Phil Mickelson, MLB's Albert Pujols and the NFL's Peyton Manning took the top five places in the list that ranks sportsmen by their business power, and has nothing to do with physical attributes (despite it's name).

According to the reports Fedor Emelianenko will defend his title against Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Fabricio Werdum at the Strikeforce event on CBS, that will probably take place on April 16th. Brock Lesnar's opponent will be either Frank Mir or Shane Carwin, who are scheduled to fight each other at UFC 111.

Depends if he gets to use golf balls and start the fight by shooting a ball, then he could take their heads clean off :)

However I don't think they were refering to physical power you egg heads lol

it says so in the article. it refers to BUSINESS power. not physical power. though i do believe based on business power, fedor should be ranked much higher, based on his partial ownership of seemingly everything MMA, with the exception of UFC(even though UFC is in his crosshairs for partial ownership).

They are refering to the business (marketing and so on) and not power

Ridiculous. That is the most AMERICAN list i have EVER seen. Soccer stars like Ronaldo make (including sponshorships) about 200 million dollars a year, and real madird payed 131 MILLION dollars for him!!!!! The biggest most iconic atheletes in the world are soccer players. I have never even heard of Lebron James? Who the **** is that? Who's never heard of David Beckham??

WTF? who's never heard of LeBron James? I think you're just a footfairy mother****er, maybe u been bouncin to many soccer balls off your head, rattled your brain... LeBron James after endorcments is close to the 150 mil a year. The European Basketball leaGue offered OBSCENE amounts of money to him, they said "if a guy like LeBron James would make his way to the league he'd make 80 to 100 mil a year" (off just a contract)

    handfairies
and you must be another ignorant american handfairy who needs to get out more. Football - the real thing where you can't use your hands (except if you're French) - is only about 10 x bigger than american football, baseball, and basketball combined. Almost no one in africa, Asia or Europe will know wtf LeBron James is but mention Beckham, Ronaldo, or vanNistelrooy and you have yourself a conversation.
On topic: this list can't be just about money or else no mma fighter would be on it. There must be at least 100 european Football players alone that make far more money than Fedor and Brock combined, let alone if you add US football, baseball, basketball, golf, etc.
    mind

    Info
In July 2009, that's the list

    1) Tiger Woods (/Etats-Unis) 99 737 626 $
    2) Phil Mickelson (/Etats-Unis) 52 950 356 $
    3) David Beckham (/Grande-Bretagne) 48 200 000 $
    4) Kimi Räikkönen (Pilote/Finlande) 46 000 000 $
    5) LeBron James (Basket/USA) 42 410 581 $
    6) Alex Rodriguez (Baseball/USA) 39 000 000 $
    7) Ronaldinho (Football/Bresil) 37 500 000 $
    8) Lionel Messi (Football/Argentine) 35 800 000 $
    9) Roger Federer (Tennis/Suisse) 35 130 620 $
    10) Shaquille O’Neal (Basket/USA) 35 000 000 $
    10) Fernando Alonso (Pilote/Esp) 35 000 000 $

There are at least 50 soccer players that earn more than 4000 000 $ a year, just with salaries, no counting advertising contracts.

I did not count Basket Ball players etc etc...

If they are among 100, they make really Big frikin Money!!!

    screw Brock
Brock still hasn't put any time into MMA. To me he still hasnt proved himself.

Wait until he's 10 fights in and then we will give him some recognition.
