Fyodor had a cut on his nose?
The close up picture shows what looks like a cut or a lot of reddish scar tissue in the same spot where he opened up again.

Fedor myths
>Fedor always looks so calm and disciplined.
I think DocDoom hit it on the nose.
There is this mythology about Fedor being emotionless, it fights the american depiction of russian killing machines: cyborgs, drago's, souless followers.... it plays into it and helps create the mythos.
Just like the Fedor speaks no english one. Fedor speaks english, Barnett says it and that video where Fedor is giving a sambo/newaza seminar in France from 4-5 years ago show that he could speak english well enough to the translator who would then translate it into french.. But it serves his need for privacy.
Back to DocDoom, yes I think it is discipline more than a lack of personality. Fedor is the ice cream swilling roller coster riding kid who torments Mousasi during road trips with practical jokes.
Years of sambo/judo and mandatory military service will do that to you.
I see lots of kids at the dojo grow up and while you always have the have the gong ho types, it is often our most mature, calm and matured youngsters who end up making fine athletes and instructors.
Many martial arts federations mandate the creation of new judges and coaches with national credentials (PNCs) for recognized dojos as a way to help build from the base on up and it is those with the best discipline, self control and confidence that we usually choose.
Many of these successes were among the most troubled and undiscipllined youths we had.
We see too many 'so called righteous people' being nothing more than shallow masturbationists, watching Fedor's docs dont give me that impression of him. Which is why even in his own style, his personality attracts a certain amount of 'old school' respect about the value and moral codes of martial arts. While some McSchools eschew these principles as having no use, there are still many more than try to instill in their athletes the values such as e, reflects its moral code of politeness, courage, sincerity, self-control, honour, modesty, friendship and respect. I see that in Fedor and some of my older students who are now adults. As a teacher, it makes you proud, as a fan, it draws respect.
But I still luv that crazy mayhem monkey.
Props to Esther Lin for the sepia tone choice. Nice compositions but her cropping is still too tame/lame.

really looking forward to this card, hopefully its a great success and strikeforce can go on to challenge the ufc. I think fedor and mousasi on the same card is exiting, hopefully both secure convincing wins. Miller - Shields will be an explosive fight i think, both men love to entertain should be good. Overall i think the strikeforce set up is excellent and they seem to treat their fighters with alot more respect than the ufc. Ufc missed out big time when they couldnt secure fedor. Strikeforce is only going to get better. Ceoker is doing an excellent job.

There is this russian sadness combined with spirituality. Reminds me of Andrei Tarkovsky's movies. If you don't this director and like arty movies, check it out.
