    I've seen Fedor, Anderson and Torres all get their butts handed to them but there has never been a time when that happened to GSP. Yes, he's been submitted by Hughes and KO'd by Serra, but he has never been outperformed! You can argue the same point with Machida, but no one ever does.

    you accomplished a type of karate's black belt at age 14. what ignorant people like you dont realize is that there are different types of karate. ex. Shotokan. Machida's karate is not just self defense, it is an offensive counter punch... watch the rashad evans fight... he chases evans around the octagon and counters his punches. yes, his style is awkward but is there anyone who can beat him? probabely, but they aren't in the UFC right now. ANDas for silva being the best p4p? no way! why do you think silva trains with machida? because silva knows machida is better and wants to train with the best.

    Because: 1. He has fought the best of the very best recently in Leites and Cote and now in reality show UFC Idol winner Forrest Griffin!

    2. He continues to fight the best in a man he only defeated ONCE before: 39 yrs old Dan Henderson! Wow what a prime time challenge!

    3. Dana says so!

    4. Fedor in the meantime defeats very weak opponents in longest reigning UFC heavyweight champ Tim Sylvia and UFC HW champ and fan favorite Arlovski!

    5. Fedor continues to fight the weakest and watned to fight Barnett who has crushed Randy Couture in Randy's prime!

    Anyone that says GSP would dominate Silva after watching him dismantle Forest is just stupid. The list goes like this.. Anderson, GSP, Machida, Fedor... But it will end up like this Anderson, Machida, GSP, Fedor.     EVEN if Anderson Silva walks through Forrest, Fedor is still fighting much better competition (Arlovski, Sylvia) Sure Sylvia sucks, but he walked through everybody in the UFC for a few years!

    Forget about it! BJ Penn is the best right now at LW, GSP clearly at WW, Anderson Silva at MW, Machida at LHW, Fedor at HW! After a few fights and upsets, who knows?!?

    And PLEASE do not say Anderson Silva who has been fighting true nobodies like Patrick Cote and Thales Leites can be compared to Fedor who crushed the longest reigning UFC HW champ Tim Sylvia and UFC champ Arlovski and was about to fight former UFC champ Barnett.

    michida is just an awkward fighter, karate is bullshit and i can say that cos i achived my black belt when i was 14. once the rest of 205 realise he wins not by what he is doing right but by exploiting what they are doing wrong the sooner someone can step up there game, leave nothing to chance, batter him and his name wil no longer be in contention for best p4p. fedors a fat bald communist and as much as i think lesnar has no real technical skill he would just smother him and pound out a 1st round victory, bj would be a serious contender if he worked on his cardio and stamina he only lost 2 gsp because he gassed himself out, gsp got hammerd against serra so that leaves silva, he is by far the best middle weight by far and in my opinion the best p4p simply because no one has ever convincingly put up a fight against him. henderson did ok for 1 round but be honest did silva look for a second like he was in trouble, er no! he just upped his game and got the win. i rest my case

The UFC's HW division is SOOO razorthin that they have to hype a no-skill Brock, very OLD Randy, about to retire Nogueira, glass chin Mir, and two VERY UNKNOWN and UNPROVEN fighters in Shane Carwin and Cain Valasquez! Better heavyweights are: Kharitanov, Alex Emelianenko, Arlovski, Barnett, Werdum, Overeem, Arona, and many more!

    4. No need to start a p4p debate Dana, just to claim the UFC has somebody (Anderson Silva) that is better than Fedor in something... because clearly the UFC has absolutely NOBODY in the heavyweight CLOSE to Fedor, that's why Dana started the p4p debate in the first place! Even Anderson Silva said Fedor is the best!

    It's Fedor without a doubt. Even if he loses to Barnett, he's still the best.

    When people say that all he's(Fedor) fought lately are has beens, by the same token Anderson has been dominating never beens. The only solid person that he's fought was Hendo. Franklin(although i like watching his fights) is mediocre at best. And he's(Silva) a big guy coming down to a smaller weight class. The only reason why I can see that people are considering him to be the best P4P fighter is because of the UFC hype machine. He's a great fighter, but not the greatest.

    Machida has the potential to be the best P4P. But we'll have to wait and see how he does. Is he gonna hold on to the belt? Will he finish his fights or just take a bunch of decisions? We don't know.

    GSP, no. Again, UFC hype machine.

    Diaz and Mousasi should be considered. Haven't watched alot of Torres fights so i don't know.

    Every sport has it's biggest name and in mma, it's Fedor. Love him or love him, everyone mentions his name when talking P4P.

    Anderson Silva recent fights are freaking boring and dodging his opponents all the time, he has not got a skillful GNP and he just afraid to compete with the top ground game fighters, his ground game is much weaker than GSP and FEDOR

    That's why he is not anymore in the primary main card in the UFC101
    Also, there is lack of quality contenders in his weight class, don't be fooled by the UFC tactic and saying he is the best P4P all the time
    GSP are much better than Anderson as he is willing to overcome every aspect of the fights while facing opponents, striking, JJS, wrestling....
    Fedor are no doubt the best P4P, you will finally admit that if he defeat Josh Barnett!!!!!!!!!!!

    I didn't even bring up the sandman fight, it's the potential that's important. Would you honestly bet a large sum on griffin winning that fight? Because he was champion not long ago...(already said that). Heavyweight is heavyweight really.....
    But that's cool, it's all good to have a different opinion and all, just i love when people talk pure trash. Fedor is one of the tiniest heavyweights but dominates really really well, it's quite inspirational honestly, and his videos are great to study because his submissions are so expertly executed.

Fedor powers out of submissions, can throw people way bigger than him around like nothing, but people aren't going to drop weight and ba able to do that, like some idiot can't say that GSP is gonna go up to light heavyweight and throw people around.

    Tell you who he fought in other weightclasses.....? Well, he's just about to fight the ex champion of a weight class higher than him so...and he'll probably win. So that means he can travel to atleast 2 weightclasses and dominate. You and the other guy who can't speak english should look some words up before arguing.

    How is it insanely dumb? Do you even know who either fighter is? When have you seen Machida or Silva power their opponent down, thrown them around etc etc. THEY DON'T! Meanwhile Fedor somehow powers out of submissions on people much larger, has looping fists and powers throguh someones guard to smash them with his fists.

    Anderson and machida both analyze a fighter style, THEN counter while evading, duh. That's why crybabies call them boring, and then jump on their d***s when they get a KO. You can think,analyze,evade and coutner at any weight, you can't power through people at any weight. Before you vote, atleast have some sense to know what pound for pound means.

    Once again, who knows what pound for pound actually means??? It has NOTHING to do with record. If a fighter relies on power to win, obviously he can't do that the same way at another weight, so if fedor drops to 205 he's not going to be manhandling anyone anymore than GSP will manhandle everyone if he steps up. Machida and anderson silva are martial artists who rely on their intelligence, analytical skills and striking to win which can be done at any weight, so they are top contenders. Anderson actually does fight at more than one weight so he's in the lead

    It's too bad that most people cannot state anything objectively. They pick the fighter they like, not considering a fighter they dislike. Try to take affiliation, popularity, opposition, etc. out of the equation. Personally, I don't understand how anyone can argue with the fact that FEDOR is the best fighter in the world. This is just my humble opinion, but unless FEDOR gets beaten I will feel the way I do. I don't know why I dislike Anderson Silva so much, but I am willing to give him the credit and respect he deserves. I just don't think he's the best p4p fighter in the world. I just watch fights for the entertainment, and no one entertains me like FEDOR. I do think Shane Carwin and Lyoto Machida are also two fighters to watch.

    Anyone who thinks Anderson would beat GSP, must not have seen Anderson's last couple outings. There are several fighters who would have won those fights against Anderson. Nat Maqruardt or GSP. etc.

    Machida gets struck on average once every 2.5 rounds. Even Anderson would be swinging at air with that guy.

    People keep talking about fedors record like they are too stupid to know what pound for pound actually means. It doesn't matter what your record is, what matters is how well people think you would do at another size based on the skills you have.

    Silva dominates his own weightclass, could dominate light heavyweight, and he supposedly walks around at 230 and i can definitely see him dominating alot of those fighters. Fedor coming down to 205 wouldn't be nearly as strong, and at 185 it'd be unthinkable, so it can't be him

    I'm going to say silva because he's the only person who actually DOES go to other weight classes and dominates. Sorry but i can't see fedor coming down to light heavyweight in the UFC and not losing, it's not like heavyweight where noone really has the whole package. Silva trains with machida and i would expect silva to run over forrest who was light heavyweight champ not long ago. George isn't going to step up to silvas class and dominate, although he could probably go down to bj's and do heavy damage. Machida couldn't walk through silva although he could do damage in alot of classes....

    I pick silva over Machida because silva CAN take a hit in additional to being both extemely elusive and accurate. Silva punches will do damage to machida and unlike anyone else he's used to machidas style, and even has elusiveness to match

    i think that a man that has defended his title for almost a decade should earn respect from any mma fan i also agree that nick diaz is not to farway from that list,for anderson if he can get a shot at machida it will be at masterpiece in mma achievement and don't forget the old pride days of wanderlei silva where he would fight anybody at any categorie on any rules and how many fighters do you see fighting the way he use to now a days. that was a true p4p.

    I personally think Machida can only be put in the catagory with Fedor when and if he defends his title many times without loosing. Remember, Fedor was always Fedor, but he was the underdog in lots of fights before he proved himself to be one of the most elite fighters ever in MMA. As for A. Silva, he is an excellent caliber fighter as well. Theres some challenge at 205 for him, good move to solidify his P4P status, but I think if Dana claims he is the best P4P fighter, then he should get an immediate title shot at 205. Then we will see if his IS the best P4P fighter. GSP is on of my fav, but he cannot be best P4P because of his losses to Serra and Hughes. Serra rocked him and he folded, when Fedor got rocked hard in some fights he amazingly got it together and won. A. Silva I havent really ever seen get rocked, same with Machida.

    Really, I'm the only one who thinks Miguel Torres should be #1, or at least tied for #1? We're talking PFP, right? For his size, he's got better striking, flexibility, and ground work than almost anyone else (except maybe Fedor). He's like a tiny Anderson Silva, but MUCH more effective on the ground.

    i highly doubt that gps(my boy) can beat silva! and it would b very interesting but maybe boring to see silva and machida go at it. neither one gets hit much in the cage. silva in shape is unstoppable! i even think silva can give fedor a hell of a hard time if they met in a light heavyweight match.
