    Wow, he can still take a beating!!
    A lot of the kiddies here know Saku as some old dude
    who looks like he will die in the ring but once upon a time he was 'The Gracie Hunter'. When it meant something. He is a legend because whether its through his exquisite technical skills or willingness to absorb a beating, he has always impressed us in the ring. Many of the so called greats (cough, cough, couture) failed to instill anything except drowsiness.
    One more but that's its old man. Dont tempt fate. This cant be good. (Does Saku have debts, ex-wives, gambling or no other way to make a living but still fight? Or is it a competitive thing?)

    Good refs know the fighters. Saku can take a lot of damage and the ref knew that. If that was Cro Cop or anyone else with a weak chin it would have been stopped. Great job ref!

    dang dude i didnt expect that. i thought zelg was gonna ko him for sure. big props to saku.
    dang he took a lot of pusminent to get that submission.
    thats the one bad thing about going for foot/leg/or knee submissions,you leave your face wide open and you cant defend yourself.
    i bet you if that fight was in the us,it would have been stoped a long time ago. Japanese refs are way better than us refs. i have never questioned their stoppages are deashions.

    man Kazushi Sakuraba is the man i rem when he fought gracie for over and hour and still came out and fought 1 more time after that....he is one of the greatest fighters of all time i just wish he woulda made a huge impact in the ufc so more fans would know who he is!

    No doubt the US refs could use a little lesson or two from Japanese refs. But at least the athletic commissions take care of steroids here.
