    Fights need to be scored as a whole because it seems every UFC event has an unsatisfying decision. If fights were scored this way, close rounds would be more fairly judged because a fighter with one more punch in a particular round would not get a whole extra point toward his final score. Furthermore, a fighter who won the first two rounds would not just "do what it takes" to get through the third and would instead continue fighting hard until the end. Even with the controversial decisions such as Michael Bisping over Matt Hamill and Lyoto Machida over "Shogun" Rua, it was clear who the better fighter was. But you can make arguments for the other fighter because of the inefficient scoring system. I was laughing after the decision last night, but there's still a group of people that truly believes Machida edged Rua out on points. I think a greater majority would agree Shogun would have won if the other system was in place, and the more people that agree on the winner, the better. I'm not sure how many more judging controversies need to take place, but something needs to change soon to preserve the integrity of the sport.

    Both fighters are losers no one won that fight, so the UFC left the title with Lioto who was holding the belt.

    I am Brazilian and expected much more of this fight, I feel embarrassed for the poor fight both fighters provided. Both have adopted hit and run for 5 rounds, the fight was more like a workout than a title race.

    I'm not interested in who won the fight because as I said I think both lost.

    I thought Jon Jones fought welterweight. Why would he move up to light heavy? Also, Cecil Peoples needs to be investigated by the athletic commission. He is always involved in controversial decisions.

    wo wo wo i just read a post above 5th from top. are you ****ing stupid? jon jones is imo barely a B class fighter and would get K.O'ed by either of these guys. im telling you it wouldnt go to no decision. im sorry for the bones fans but i just dont think hes anywhere as good as ppl believe. also even tho it was a horrible decision i loved the fight i was on the edge of my seat the whole 5 rounds loved it!

    I completely agree. Although it was an incredibly close fight, I did not see how "The whole world" sow shogun as hands down winner. I agree with the above that if you watch the fight in mute, you get a MUCH CLEARER perspective on the damage dealt by BOTH fighters.

    Plain and simple, Shogun listened to his dumbass trainers who claimed he had it in the bag. They were wrong, he was wrong, and even if he did not lose the fight, he did not win it either.

    The cain fight was def stopped early, but Rothwell was takin a beatin anyway. As for machida if you watch the fight again and mute joe rogans dumbass, ull c who really won. Shogun gets hit in the face multiple times every time he landws one kick.. So one leg kick or four punches to the face

    Tough fight to call, but everyone thinks that shogun won the fight so he deserves a rematch in a different area with different judges for a chance to prove that he is the better fighter.
