UFC
Ed Soares: Anderson Silva still has two or three years in MMA
Posted By antong UFC News

Just one year ago speculations ran over the media about the future of the UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. According to the reports, Silva felt that he has accomplished everything in Mixed Martial Arts and decided to try his luck in Professional Boxing, but this time his manager Ed Soares stated that Silva has still plenty to to give in MMA:
"I think the important thing is to really create the biggest fights possible," Soares said. "I think Anderson's got a good two, three years probably. He's got a good eight or nine fights probably left in him for sure, maybe more. He doesn't take too much damage, and the fact that he doesn't take damage in the fights, it's really more or less the training.
Ed Soares also stated that Anderson Silva could fight in any weight, whether it is Middleweight, Light Heavyweight or even Heavyweight. According to Soares Silva will look to leave a legacy in Mixed Martial Arts by facing the best fighters, regardless of their weight:
"I believe the last fights of his career will definitely be big fights. That's what he wants, to have the big fights, regardless of what the weight is," Soares commented. "Whether it's at light heavyweight, whether it's at heavyweight, whether it's at a catchweight, doesn't make a different. He just wants to challenge himself and be involved in some of the biggest fights that the UFC can put together."
Anderson Silva is scheduled to face Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort at the stacked UFC 112 card in Abu Dhabi, but the rumors of the possible mega-fight with the undisputed Welterweight King Georges St Pierre, and a possible Heavyweight bout against Frank Mir are swirling around Anderson Silva.>

id think that hed put a better fight up against him. than anyone besides shogun just cause e found the way to break his karate, not saying that shogun can beat A.silva but i bet he can do better.
I'm a machida fan and i think right now, where A.silva is now in his career, and also his age, performance, skill, he can really be a worthy advisary for the Dragon.

you sirs, are ****ing retarted... machida would get shit on... his only game is to pick flaws of aggressing opponents and strike then... EX shogun fight , he wasn't aggressive at all... and he got ranged , and lost. If he fought the best fighter in the world ... anderson would destroy him. hands down

since they are training partners and really good friends they will not fight each other. they respect eachother too much to get in the ring and fight. plus silva did an interview where he talked about sparring with lyotto and said that even he had a hard time landing hits on lyoto.

There is no way the GSP vs Anderson fight will ever happen, first of all Silva thinks far to highly of himself to want to fight someone in a lower weight class then himself. Secondly GSP isn't just going to take a fight with a heavier opponent without a long period of gaining permanent weight. Also GSP is much more likely to fight BJ again then Anderson. So that match up people can forget.
I suspect that Silva will continue to take on bigger fighters until he just get overwhelmed and humiliated and leaves MMA.
Best thing that could happen right now is for Vitor to KO Silva, that would question Silva's legacy and he would have to stay for many more years to gain it back.

AGREE SILVA ITS TOO BIG FOR GSP , OF COURSE HE WANTS THE FIGHT ITS LIKE GSP WANTING TO FIGHT A SMALLER GUY LIKE KENNY FLORIAN!
BESIDE GSP IS ALREDY FIGHTING BIG GUYS!
FITCH IS 200 POUNDS , AS WELL AS THIAGO ALVES!
THOSE 2 ARE WAY BIGGER THAN GSP AND NO ONE IS TELLING THEM TO MOVE UP!
GSP HAS SOME FIGHTS AT 170 , MAYBE PAUL DALEY REMATCH WITH KOSCHECK AND FITCH AND EVEN BJ SO BJ WOULD STOP BITCHING AND GET HIS ASS KICK AGAIN!
ANDERSON COULD BE FIGHTING BRANDON VERA , JON JONES , RAMPAGE , RASHAD , MACHIDA OR SHOGUN!

he could fight randy , chuck , and the jones fight would be sick!
i think if shogun beats machida again!
then anderson should fight 2 top contenders at 205 and if he makes it then anderson vs shogun since he dont want to fight machida

Fedor can fight washed up fighters or guys buffered from fighting other cans and noone says a damn thing.
Look at the attitude of the TRUE P4P champ.
"According to Soares Silva will look to leave a legacy in Mixed Martial Arts by facing the best fighters, regardless of their weight:"
That's respect. Fedor just wants to dominate at his own weight, which is fine because he's intelligent and doesn't want fair weather fans to lead him into doing something foolish, he's doing it for a LIVING.
They are both two great men with completely opposite outlooks(as their signs suggest) and i respect them both, but while Fedor is the greatest heavyweight, Silva is the P4P champ

If Anderson wants the biggest fights no matter the weight division then he needs to get out of the UFC. Dana doesn't want Anderson jumping from division to division messing it up for all the guys that are trying to climb up to belt contention. How many fights does the spider have left in the UFC?

Can you blame him? People want to see title fights. If silva starts messing around in other divisions, it will hold the middle weight division at a stand still.
Im pretty sure Dana wouldnt have a problem with silva moving to LHW, but it would have to be a move that he wants to do permanant. You cant be the champ at MW if your never going to fight there again.

yea i'm pretty sure if Anderson Silva fought in light heavy weight he'd get taken down more by guys like rashad ...but having said that he would also stomp on alot of people that are willing to stand there and bang with him the guy is just way too fast on his feet for most guys at 205 and his striking is supreme. he killed forrest and i wanna see him stomp on Brandon Vera then possibly Thiago Silva and maybe a rampage match up after that. and from the way his manager sounds he wants to move up to fight the best guys out there as he's gonna retire in about 3 yrs

agreed but i dunno if he necessarily has to fight lyoto to prove that.
If the fought rampage, rashad, shogun etc... he could prove it. if he steps up and fights in a few HW fights with guys that are relativly light for HW's like cro cop of maybe a guy who won't try and take him down like Kongo just knocking off a few guys 2 weight divisions above you would be saying a WHOLE HECK OF ALOT

GSP would be able to confuse Anderson with his Canadian Karate style. He has many moves he hasn't shown in the cage yet, various animal styles for example. He would probably come up with a great game plan and strike when Anderson least expected it. It would be a KO in the second by kick to the head.
