    man you right its all about the money and even i have no proof of that, but i think some of those fighters are paid to lose(like it was in boxing). That's why i don't really like UFC, I rather watch those old Pride fights or Dream fights. The reason I watch UFC cause of some of the fighterS who used to fight for PRIDE. He is patient he is humble and and he has complete control of the ring...there is no one out there right now that is capable of beating him. His ability to control and munipulate his opponent...is incredible...love watching that guy. He is one of the only fighters i think that is capable to retire undefeated in the octagon...

    that scared tactic stile of fighting of Rashad Evens was a joke when it came to fighting a real Martialartist, if you notice Rashad never fights with any real tactic fighting skills. If i remember correctly Rashad once was a humble fighter at the beginning of his UFC carrer. But after fighting Tito Rashad's true natural roots had come out. Tipical not different, what a shame.

    Patience is what most UFC fighters lack. The sport is too driven by $$ and ratings and so fighters feel like they have to put on a show. WRONG APPROACH! The goal in a fight is to try and not take damage while inflicting the most damage. Why knock a guy who is able to win by KO and not get marked or even hurt? That's brilliant. Look at all the ex boxers who were praised for their willingness to stand in there and get their brains bashed in. Some of those guys can barely speak or process a clear thought. One day we'll see the same legacy from MMA.

    You sound pretty damn racist yourself. People of African descent (almost no one outside of Africa is pure African) are not superior athletes. The reasons for pro-sports in the US being lopsidedly black are socioeconomic. There are a lot more opportunities for whites and Asians in this country outside of sports than there are for blacks. As for boxing, it is equally split between blacks and Hispanics, size determining who takes what weight class. Also, most boxing gyms are in poor, inercity areas where white people are scarce. Outside the US sports are more diverse and as more opportunities open up for minorities in this country you will see the same here. F*** you bigot.

    Shotokan will not overtake the UFC. It doesn't matter what you train as long as it is trained realistically. That being said most Shotokan schools train using nothing but Kata and no contact sparring which instills a false sense of distance. The Machida school is a rare exception. I myself have a brown belt 1 red stripe under Kazumi Tabata. You can get his books anywhere. Even coming from that pedigree it is only in the last couple of years, since I started training JKD, submission wrestling and Muay Thai that I have BEGUN to develop into an OK fighter.

    Not only did they already fight, but machida proved he has outstanding take down defense against ortiz....ortiz wasnt able to take him down the whole fight. Ortiz did come very close to pulling off a submission from his back in the last few seconds of the fight...but machida was able to escape. Through out the fight machida dominated him but like rogan says in this fight we haven't really seen Machida fight off his back, but his ju jitsu appears to be very solid. A great fighter who I cant wait to see fight again.

    I think Rashads strategy just sucked for this fight, not much to do with precognition. He didn't throw any kicks really, didn't feint really, just predictable punches. Although his punches were very quick, they were the ONLY thing machida needed to wait for, making them that much easier to dodge. If Rashad would have mixed it up with some kicking feints, diverse movement, and possibly jumping tackles from in close the fight would have gone much differently.

    You can't fight a martial artist as a simple boxer,Silva and Machida are about the only two people keeping the amrtial arts in the fighting sport. I hope Machida runs through all the competition, infact i KNOW he should, because Rashad is about the only person capable of beating him in that division, but he need to evolve first.

    Machidas movement is his greatest weapon. Works his legs early with leg kicks and knees from the clinch.the damage should slow him down. unfortunately he will counter leg kicks thrown at him. I think Shogun, forrest and Jardine have the best chance to possibly beat Machida.

    Movement patterns?
    It doesn't have to do with Machida's movement patterns. There's nothing tricky about the patterns he moves in. It's all lateral, side to side movement. Then when someone attempts to attack, he leans his head back and moves away. He's been doing it since he was a kid and is the best at it. Obviously, he's very, deceivingly quick at it too. No-one, including Rashad has been able to touch him yet, and Rashad is known for his hand speed and athletic ability. Trust me, Rashad had already figured out Machida's movement patterns before he ever stepped in the octagon with him, Rashad works with an outstanding team of trainers. However Rashad, just like any other fighter, can't read minds. Whether you know his movement patterns or not is not the point. The point is whether your going to know what combination he's going to throw before he throws it? No, of course not, and unless you have speed which borders on pre-cognition, you also won't defend it adequately when Machida throws something like a kick, then immediate straight left combination. Believe it or not, his elusiveness and movement is only a small portion of what makes him great. What folks really need to figure out is effective attack methods, attacking him before he has a chance to throw those unorthodox, sharp shooting combinations. It's going to take another striking specialists who is accustomed to fighting for scoring points (hitting without being hit) to give Machida a challenge. No current MMA top contender in the 205lb division can do it, including "Shogun". When another karate star whose been fighting point Karate all of his life comes in with his own set of striking tricks and skills, the UFC will finally have seen someone to challenge Machida. Mark my words, you heard it here, there will be no real challenge for him until then. This guy has fought on a different level. Not at all ragging on MMA guys, I love MMA and the UFC, and don't miss a one of them. However, no fighter that I've seen so far in MMA possesses even close to the world class striking package that Machida brings. Anderson "The Spider" Silva is the only one even close, and watch, that fight WILL EVENTUALLY happen. It will also be the highest grossing MMA fight to date. Machida and Silva are friends and training partners, so there going to use that to get at least a million a piece for that fight. Dana White will pay it too, because the fans and the world will demand to see the best two fighters in the world lock horns, and Dana and the UFC will stand to make enough money off of the promotion of that fight, where they can easily offer Machida and "The Spider" a purse of a million deniro apiece. Holla back if you like this posting. Damn, I should be a MMA Sports Analyst.

    Rampage is going to kick Lachida ass. I don't know why you guys are still loyal to chuck Lidell. Rampage kicked his ass while he was in his prime when fighting for pride in 2003. Evans don't have the experience Rampage has. Rampage is at the top of his game right now. Lachida is good but he has not been hit by Rampage. Rampage has better skills than Rashad and is not scared to engage. Rampage is going to take it to counter punching dragon.

    The way that Machida leans the upper half of his body back, but has his legs planted on the ground, I wounder why no one has tried to kick his knees when he does that. That sideways kick that Anderson Silva did to his last opponent over and over again would be perfect. When Machida leans back, kick down on his knee, because his legs are planted solid and out on front of hm. That would hurt like a Bitch. Easier said then done I bet... But maybe.. His one weakness..

    Rampage even declined to fight Machida, I guess Rampage got scared as well. He rather coach on the show along side with Rashad. UFC has had problems finding fighters in the past who are willing to fight Machida, Forrest flat out told Dana, that he wants no part of Machida.

    The only way to defeat machida, is to clinch with him and push him to the cage, and play dirty boxing with him. Anyone? RAMPAGE! But then again machida is a sumo wrestler. Even tito ortiz, a great wrestler a GNP artist was not able to catch hold of him and take him down! and if you take him down, you gotta deal with his jiu jutsu.     Want to believe it or not, no one is going to keep the LHW title like Chuck did for two years. All of these guys are good, really good. Machida, in my humble opinion, is not going to keep the title more than two fights. You cannot look at the fight I just saw and say Rashad brought it, or that in a rematch the fight would be the same. You have to be aggressive, cut off the ring, abd for god sakes, clinch Machida. I may be wrong but can someone at least let me see it. Get in close. Keep kicking, and let him take you too the ground if thats what happens if you keep kicking. But somebody please rough this guy up a little. I can't stand when champions in any sport seem like they never break a sweat.

    -Tito, Sokaoju, Thiago Silva all Clinched with Lyoto and they all got put on their backs! Besides, Lyoto trains with Anderson Silva just about every day, so lets just "wildly" assume that Lyoto's clinch is probably more than solid.

Anderson Silva throws them in every fight. You know why... because he actually started his martial arts training in Tae kwon do where he earned his 1st black belt, but nobody ever wants to talk about it. Inner, outer, spinning, and butterfly cresent kicks came originally from kung fu. Snapping cresent kicks are a Karate and Tae Kwon Do phenomenon.

    I think the only person in the UFC that can beat Machida in the 205 Weight class is Anderson Silva. UFC should put that fight together before Silvas contract runs out. To the people commenting about Fedor, he is heavyweight guys and Fedor would absolutely kill any of these 2 that moved up weightclass we all know that. But yea Silva vs Machida after Jackson looses.

    ufc has one of the worst fan base in the world. most just jumped on the mma bandwagon, and in every match they're just waiting for the KO punch. machida's really a gem, i'm glad he finally got his chance to shine.... and shine he did.     Good fight for Machida i think Rampage Jackson would also have beaten Evans, he just doesn't have a chin.Jackson also has a soft chin but i think he has alittle better defense than Evans it's going to be a good fight between Rampage and Machida, hard to pick a winner thats why these fights are so go it actually comes down to any givin day.

    Rashad did not shy away - he was being patient & careful which was smart - I would have LESS respect for Rashad if he played it any other way !

    Machida has a very unique style which cannot be easily duplicated in a training camp and this makes it hard to prepare an effective defense.

    Anyway, big respect to Rashad and MAJOR PROPS to the new UFC Light Heavy Weight Champ !!

    I'm sorry but today's Vanderlei cannot beat him. He is past his prime. However he does present an interesting matchup as Vanderlei is very effective with his kicks as well as his striking inside. However, Vanderlei's puches are more looping, and I feel he would get caught rather quickly vs. Machida. Machida's size presents problems for a lot of these guys. He isn't cut up, but kind of has that fedor quality of being hard to hurt and deceptively strong and balanced. No UFC fighter right now stands a chance in his weight class.     I'm sure Dana White will find a way to usher machida out of the UFC / not give him props. UFC isn't real in the sense that good fights are rare and totally up to the marketing ploys of this huge huge douchebag (Dana White). This is a rare example of the UFC allowing a great fighter to face one of the hyped UFC-created fighters. It shows how terrible they really are. It's the same reason Fedor won't fight in this bullshi* MMA division- the truly great international fighters don't get a chance to show their dominance. Dana white won't have it.     I've got to say early on I was bored by machida's style... UFC promotes the fighters they "create" in the ultimate fighter show... they finally gave a real fighter a chance here. The only reason evans ever beat chuck is because chuck is almost 40... This is the closest i've seen a fighter come to killing a guy in a long time.

    All you guys asking for this fight, it won't happen. They are both managed by the same guy and they are friends. It would be a huge money loss for them. They can stay in their respective weight class and be dominant or they can fight each other where the lose will lose their value and the promoter will lose big in the future.

    As far the the Evans fight, it was beautiful. One thing I like about Machita is that he is very respectfull. I still remember how Evans made cute faces and gestures when he TKO Liddel, where were those faces last night???

    For all of you claiming Evans made this a boring fight, you're all morons. Fighting Mychoda = boring fight EVERYTIME. Yes he's good but he's also the most boring fighter in the octagon ever.     I see alot of people jumping on Machidas bandwagon and his karate. The form of art isnt what wins the fight, its the fighter behind the art. Yeah, Machida is a karate master, but he got the Knockout with boxing. Rashad Evans was never really a good striker, he only looked the part because of his opponents. His striking skills were very much overrated. Sad to say Rampage would have brutalized Evans also. Now I bet everyone wants to see Machida vs Silva.

    lolol... when someone says that fedor will destroy u that's when u know u made it. like silva and fedor... there's no way to tell who's better because of the huge weight difference in muscle mass. the fight would be like a kid fighting an adult. that being said, we all know fedor's the best.

    Considering that Machida has never lost a round, Penn was far from almost winning the match. There is no almost or if in contact sport, only who wins. And Penn sucks; i'm glad GSP made him cry, twice.

    if you know anything about mma you can see that both fighter are bad ass. every fight is different. machida was just the smarter more composed fighter this fight. evans is bad ass too dont get it twisted. im pretty sure rashad has what it takes to get another title fight. good job machida but the ufc has deadly fighters lets see how long he can hold that belt.

    Machida is just to damn fast and elusive... unless you stick to his inside. All hes shown(besides the fact that hes an excellent fighter) is that if you stay close to him, you can't get him. Rashad was trying to get close but just couldn't. every time he started get close with strikes Machida quickly backed off. When he got into a clinch Machida quickly broke away. Every time Evans started some momentum, he quickly got into stance when Machida got far. Thats why rampage WILL win. Rampage isn't hesitant like Rashad. Hes not afraid to take a few punches. And with his power, it'll most likely gonna be knockout. This fight will be the ultimate test of Machida's Style. if he wins against rampage, then i'll be a *******'s uncle.

    Evans was too scared!
    Gave the Dragon too much respect to be any type of a worthy opponent. He new he couldn't match that round house with his new found love for kicking. Especially when he got tagged in the head with that first kick. He felt that ass at the end of that foot and knew that's what he was trying to achieve with his kicks.     I want a rematch. Rashad did not show up. I am a fan of his. He was too tentative, he wasn't aggressive enough, he waited too long and got knocked out. His opponent is untouched, really. Flawless victory. With that said. I really want to see a rematch with these two. Rashad is damned good. I cannot think of anyone, at the moment, in that division better than Rashad, except for the man that knocked him out tonight. If Spider Siva moves up to LHW maybe, but apparently they are friends and wouldn't fight each other. Take away that last maybe and add in, totally f*ing awesome. Rampage v Evans versus the winner of Silva v Griffin, for the title.

    Want to believe it or not, no one is going to keep the LHW title like Chuck did for two years. All of these guys are good, really good. Machida, in my humble opinion, is not going to keep the title more than two fights. You cannot look at the fight I just saw and say Rashad brought it, or that in a rematch the fight would be the same. You have to be aggressive, cut off the ring, abd for god sakes, clinch Machida. I may be wrong but can someone at least let me see it. Get in close. Keep kicking, and let him take you too the ground if thats what happens if you keep kicking. But somebody please rough this guy up a little. I can't stand when champions in any sport seem like they never break a sweat.

    Shotokan Karate is underestimated in the world!!!!
    Anyone who has ever underestimaed karate or shotokan karate as a real applicable fighting style now has proof in Lyoto the dragon Machida. He took care of Evans without much resistance and Rashad is a great fighter without a loss on his record, until now. I knew he would win but I didn't think that easily. I think he is gonna be very difficult to be beat. Again I reiterate to anyone who put down or dawged out shotokan karate should eat their words because I am proud of him and his achievements representing karate giving hope to those who train and strive to be their best.     The Jackson fight will resemble this fight. Similar style as Evans, good wrestler, likes to box...Machida will pick him apart. Cant hit whats not there. He will come in and out as he pleases. I don't think Machida will KO Rampage as easily, infact I think it will go to the cards, and Machida is a master of racking up points, so yeah.....same fight slightly different ending.

    Well, that made my day. I can't stand that show boating big mouth punkass Evans.Now if Hendo will just take out Bisping, the world will be a better place. Bisping and Evans are both in the same book in my opinion.They are both obnoxious and think they are better then they really are.

    So next will be...Machida vs Rampage.....I like them both, Machida is top notch and lets his fighting do his talking..Rampage is just a funny likable guy and good fighter as well , BUT..I think that fight will look very similar too this one. Rampage is semi-similar to Evans style in that he is a good wrestler but likes to pretty much just box it out these days...mostly.Machida will not be there when Rampage punches and will come in and strike at will.Machida isn't going anywhere anytime soon in my opinion.
