UFC
Frank Trigg Ready to Make One Last "Run" at The Title

UFC News

After more than four years away from the Octagon, former number one welterweight contender, Frank Trigg, tells Yahoo!Sports.com that he’s ready to give it one more shot before he puts a ribbon on his mixed martial arts career. The 37-year-old fighter made his professional debut back in 1997.
“Let’s be honest: This is a title run. I’ve kind of always been that way, where I’d rather run myself into a brick wall and fail at the attempt than keep running my mouth. Let’s face facts, guys: I’m a good mouth runner. I can talk about anything at any time I want. But the real guys will talk about it and then go out and do it. I don’t have much time left. I’m 37 years old and I’m only going to be around four, five more years. (The sport is) going to develop too much around me. No matter what I’m going to do, I’m not going to be able to develop. Age and wisdom can only take you so far before age catches up to you. I want to go up at least having made the attempt of being one of the best guys out there…. I still get nervous. I throw up and have diarrhea the day of the fight. Typical stuff. Everybody kind of goes through this. If you don’t get a little nervous, if you don’t get butterflies, then what the hell? Why are you even doing it? For me, it’s still fun. It’s a fun process. I’m an adrenaline junkie. It’s pretty cool for me to have that feeling because now I know I’m back in front of the limelight again.”

Most likely, he will get no where near the top of today's WW division. That being said, he has been out of the cage for four years. Who knows what he's learned in that time? The only thing that makes me suspect where he is at is his statement that he could never beat Heughs. If Trigg has that in his mind then I don't see how he can be mentally ready for GSP.

sound like trigg is just trying to get some attention so he can promote his clothing line (triggonomics) because no other fighter will wear it.

Atleast the one fight with hughes was back and forth, mostly cause tricked hit him in the balls and the ref didn't see it .... he was masscred by GSP and while GSP was good then not nearly as good as he is now.
He'd have a punchers chance like anyone else but that's it
