    Belfort was the calmer one in the ring. Future cards should be Belfort/Machida,Silva/St.pierre. St.pierre will win and can Machida incorperate new strategies? If not he wont last. What a waste of Belfort's time.

    people should not talk if they dont understand the advantages of heavier weight and bigger bone structures. st. pierre vs anderson would look something like st pierre and bj penn. if penn has a bigger frame itd be more ineterseting cause losing to a bigger man didnt take away any credit from him.

    I don't think a win against Franklin suddenly vaults Belfor to the top of the division. It is very easy to overestimate the significance of this victory. Franklin has not been anything near the force he once was in quite a while, partly due to age of course, but also partly due to a steeper competitive curve (as the UFC has become packed with good fighters who've been drawn by money and increasing notoriety).

    i agree with many of you saying that vitor should have more than 1 fight to get a title shot, it doesnt really make sense that he is getting one, but also weve previously seen brock lesnar who only had 2 fights before he got a title shot and now he is a beast...there are many factors to brock lesnars success, like his size and speed, but none the less, he only had 2 fights and is now the champ....any one has a chance in the modern mma world..we'll see wat happens

    It would be a waste of time for Anderson Silva to fight Belfort. I mean Belfort is good but Anderson Silva is just so much better than everyone else!     We need a legitimate ranking system. Vitor is unranked in the UFC and there is already talk of a title shot? Granted, he is one of three people to KO Franklin (along with Machida and Silva) but who knows what lurks in the new talent if someone can have one fight in the UFC and get a title shot? I would love to see the surprises that would pop up if this happened.

    who is this guy talking about boxing are you serious... lesnar does not have boxing skills because he has not trained very long he works on his stand up... if the best pro boxer went against brock in an mma match brock would take him down and destroy him on the ground... it is hard to master boxing as an mma fighter if you have work and train in so many different styles.

    I agree Anderson Silva is one of the best. BUT, he IS human, and he CAN be beaten. No one is completely unstoppable and it will happen one day. No matter how good you are, theres always someone better out there. But that being said, i do think Anderson Silva VS Vitor Belfort would be the best match right now on the middleweight division, cuz Hendo and Marquardt already lost to him. Vitor has a better chance of beating him than they do, but Silva is a beast and ima have to say he wins even though im a pretty big Belfort fan. Its good to see "The Phenom" back in the octagon though and hes definitely gonna give "The Spider" a run for his money.

    Franklin is good but lacks the athleticism to be on top of the food chain.
    That's another reason why a GSP will never lose at welterweight except to a Josh Koshcheck or Kevin Johnson if they're able to put they're full MMA arsenal together and fight Georges with a sound gameplan.

    Franklin in this fight had an awful strategy. He didn't jab and tried to turn this to a boxing match which was ludicrous. What the **** was Matt Hume thinking about?

    I think Anderson Silva takes Vitor, because the difference between both guys is Anderson looks for angles while Vitor only looks for moments. He was able to knock Franklin because Franklin challenged him in the danger zone, something silva would never do. Silva has the superior reach, angles, and is a smarter fighter, has more versatile attacks and seems mentally stronger or at least more consistent.

    I think Silva outpoints Belfort in a decision

    a technical war? if GSP rushes in, let's face it, like he always does, then he's gonna get KNOCKED OUT. And the whole ground and pound thing.... never really worked on Silva. I HATE Silva, and I think he's a total prick, but GSP has no way of beating Silva. Silva is taller too which means that GSP's stand up will get thrown off. I say let Anderson fight Chuck Liddell, Nogueira, Machida, Evans, or Fedor, cause quite frankly I wanna see him get his career ended.

    Franklin does not have fast hands. Good hands but not fast. There are a lot of strikers that could learn a lot from a guy like GSP. One of the reasons that GSP is so successful is that guys never know what to expect. I have know idea why guys like Franklin learned to wrestle and take others down. That would make him twice as dangerous. Its hard to see where he will go from here.

    Vitor is definitely a good fighter, and a good part of this is because he has now a better mind. But, Anderson Silva is one of the most intelligent fighter i've ever seen, he probably could win easily if Vitor try to exchange and I don't remember a good vitor's ground fight. I like these figthers, I watch their fights for a long time, and I can't see how vitor could win.

    UFC is going the way of professional boxing...fixed fights to give the fans what they want. If you watch the replay in HD and in slow motion, you can obviously see that Belfort didn't graze Franklin, but didn't even hit him at all! Franklin dodged then fell over like a fight-throwing bitch!

    Belfort is good, but Machida would mess him up. Fast hands mean nothing against machida; look at Rashad. Vitor and Silva might be a close matchup, but I don't know. Silva looked crazy good against Griffin. Silva totally dominated Griffin, Vitor didn't dominate this fight he just caught Franklin.

    Either way, I don't think Vitor should get a title fight just yet. Through him in there with someone like Marquart first, or maybe Hendo.

    I Saw Vitor in the begining of his carrer and i'm starting to feel the same way I felt when he fought Tank Abbot all those yeares ago. It felt special ,special like coming accros a young Michael Jordan. Then Vitor started getting beat mentally and he seem'ed like a completely different, scared fighter. I don't know if he can beat Anderson Silva and nobody knows, but I do believe right now he might have the best chance. Never counting Henderson out if they if they were to fight first. But the way Vitor looks now that he has mental strength, I don't know. Anderson has been beat legitemately at least two times by Japanese fighters, he is only human. One thing i'm completely sure of though is that it would be a great, great fuking fight. Keep 'em coming Vitor!

    To the retards sayin that the fight was fixed why dont you get it?!?! UFC is real and that shot was to the temple and if you get hit in the temple even if its grazed (esp. by Belforts speed!!) you will drop quick. And i personally dont think that he can stand with Silva or Machida give him a little more time to train possibly but i highly doubt it. The comment about hits to the back of the head too ummmm yea if you watched the Liddel/Shogun fight, Shogun AFTER knocking Liddell down and me and my friends watched the replay many times he hit him in the back of the head 3 times so i dont think it really matters if they hit them in the back of the head when they drop them cuz they are squriming around to try to defend themselves unless your Steve Massagati reffing a Lesnar fight then you call it while their are winning and they end up getting tapped off a rookie mistake.

    Franklin overcommitted. Should have been a little more cautious with Vitor's head being so far back. Vitor's so good with his hands though, so it's not like Rich really ****ed up or anything. I just wish the fight had been a little longer. Would have been fun to see the two duke it out for a while. I'm kinda wondering how Vitor would do against Silva now though....

    Oh boy people..... Vitor is among the best, yes he is impressive and hats off to him Rich has only been KO'd by Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida. BUT MARK MY WORDS, If Vitor tries to stand and trade with Anderson Silva? Holy dogsheight, Vitor will be KTFO in a matter of seconds and it will be in BRUTAL fashion. He needs a way better game plan against Anderson because standing and trading with the Spider is suicide. Please use your head people, he is great and has excellent hands but he baited Rich for 3 minutes and when the timing was right he tagged him and swarmed. Silva doesn't make mistakes like that, he waits for you to throw and then he shows you what you did wrong and it's all over....including Belfort. He's great but NO WAY will he beat Anderson Silva standing up. Forget it. Vitors only chance will be by GSP'ing Silva and holding him down and ground and pounding him but even that is easier said than done but it's a far better plan than standing with him.

    If you look at the replay when Joe Rogan is talking you can see that Belfort hit Franklin on the last shot and missed and it barely grazed his head and then he fell down to the ground. Now correct me if I am wrong but didn't Franklin take way more punishment in the Anderson Silva fight? I would say with almost 100% guarantee that this fight was ****ing fixed. And if you idiots can't see that you're blind. FRANKLIN THROUGH THE FIGHT! So that Dana White could have a new top number 1 contender for Anderson Silva when he comes back in 2010 after he recovers from his elbow surgery.     Franklin is one of my favorite fighters. I just had the feeling th speed was going to be too much. He is a fighter that wears you down and if he cant have the time to do that, well you see what happens. Good job Vitor, but we will see Rich again soon. You know that this is only the third person in the UFC to beat Franklin.Silva twice. Hendo and Belfort, id say that he fights the best. That says a lot of him, he will be back!!!
