    Anderson silva pound for pound the best fighter in the world. Ask forrest griffin. Its already been said {Dana White} they will not fight because there good friends. Bull shit He would just dominate 185 and 205 and cut the weight no problem. Point is who can stop anderson silva and wandy just needs to retire. But it is funny that it's bout time he beats a silva.

    nobody has the right to tell a fighter to call it quits. in the case of chuck, its a little different. only because hes been getting dropped in the first round, but wanderlei still has that little spark, and physically hes still in fighting shape.

    Jackie Chan fears no man. I challenge your Lord Machida to a 3 on 3 game of Mortal Kombat Trilogy for Nintendo 64. The graphics are "quicker" per-say, and it just loads faster. Silva did good, he shouldnt retire, the cut was critical. Rich is a talented fighter and deserves his victory.

    I think u should just keep getting your nails done and do whatever it is u do to stay a pretty girl. Rich beat wandy because wandy gassed out. He has no where near the conditioning rich is got. Rich would beat hendo but got poked in the eye. Eye socket surgery isnt that serious though its bout like u breaking a nail. Either weight class u put those 2 in franklin walks away with it.

    29-28 Silva. Definitely Franklin in the first but Silva takes second on damage and third with aggression and ring generalship.

    Guys, guys, guys
    Remember, they only fought at a catch weight. 195 lbs. Back in pride Wanderlei consistently fought at 185 lbs. Granted, yeah he's a little older and heavier now, but the cut to 195 lbs is no excuse for a lackluster performance on his part. The guy could easily still cut to 185 lbs if asked to do so. If it was the cut that bothered him, then he simply didn't do it right, and didn't have an effective training camp and weight cutting method. Which sounds kind of far fetched for a long time mixex martial artists like Silva to do. He didn't, after 15 years of successfully cutting weight to 185 lbs, all of a sudden have trouble cutting to 195 lbs. This was not a huge weight cut for him, he should have still been strong and in shape, even with the cut. Rich Franklin certainly had to cut even more weight than Silva. Franklin is 6'2', and is naturally a bigger fighter, so it would have been a bigger feat for him to make the catch weight of 195 lbs and retain adequate cardio and stamina, than it would have been for Silva. So, with that being said, don't make poor excuses for Silva. He's a great fighter, was a killer in pride, but this is a different day of martial artist. He's now fighting atheletes who are predominantly younger, faster, stronger, and are crossed trained (WELL) in all aspects of mixed martial arts. A lot of folks don't want to beleive this, but Silva was more of a no holds bar, swing for the fences, aggressive muay thai type fighter. It worked for him several years ago in pride where most of his opponents were Japanese ground specialist, or in a ring that constricted movement and people were forced to stand in front of him as he swung those "axes" of hands around at their heads. But for his last five fights, he's been fighting younger, more highly evolved strikers, in a large octogan where enough smarts, feinting, and lateral movements can keep you safe from a fighter like Wanderlei for a few rounds. It's not his weight, he's not even washed up, I love to break it down like the truth, but he just never was quite as good as we thought he was. Seeing him knock people for a loop in Pride high light reels was deceiving. Different set of rules, different ring, different time, and different fighters has made all of the difference in the down turn of Wanderlei's career. Hate to break it to all of the Wanderlei fans, but he's never been as spectacular as you thought he was. I ain't hating, I like Wanderlei, I like his attitude as well, but in comparison to even the average caliber fighter seen in the UFC today, Silva is now being seen as just that, an average fighter.

    silva will be just fine, he had trouble with his cut and it showed. Franklin on the other hand did enough to win he was the more technical fighter even though he lost the seond round. Either way you look at it either fighter could have been chosen winner.

    Some people are saying the weight cut really hurt him and thats why he lost. It basically comes down to the fact the he agreed to fight at 195 therefore that his problem for making that choice. He should've know if he was going to be able to fight conformably at that weight.

    Wanderlei shouldn't retire. His weight cut was a big deal for him. He's not a wrestler, so that cut is a huge problem. His next fight will be very different if he grabs trainers to help him cut the weight in a quality fashion. That fight was exactly what it should've been. Wanderlei actually showed a change in his foot work that showed his attempt at evolving his game. His next fight should be a victory at middleweight if he is able to lose the weight gradually in his camp, and not a last second torcher session of 12 pound water weight cutting. Hats off to both fighters.

    "He changed his foot position, so I was a little tentative for a while", that's what Franklin said after the fight. Fact is, Franklin didn't do anything to create a fight - just adopted the same boring, tentative attitude as Anderson Silva. Wanderlei created the fight and had Rich in serious trouble on at least two occasions. The only reason Franklin didn't get completely murdered is because Wanderlei gassed for a while. At the post fight press conference Dana White actually commended Rich on his smart (and tentative) fighting. Exactly what he loved when Anderson Silva fought last. When you add to this that the judges saw Franklin win a unanimous decision win this whole thing is starting to have that destintive, pungent smell of foul play. As someone else put it: This was Wanderlei vs. Vegas odds. How pathetic!

    Silva definitely won the fight since he did more damage. I love fights that the opponent with more hits wins even though very little damage was caused. Franklin only got more hits because of the reach but definitely did not hurt Silva. Wrong decision in my opinion, the AXE MURDERER should have won or it should have continued to a Fourth Round not a draw.

    As long as Wandi can put on fights that get the crowd cheering, he should be able to continue if he wants to. Someone needs to teach Wanderlei to box. He leaves his head wide open when he starts throwing bombs, thats the exact reason he has been KO'd lately. Fix the holes Wandi and continue to progress or be stubborn & get KO'd some more like Chuck(who wouldnt fix his game either)

    I was extremely suprised that wand gassed out the way he did i realize this was his first fight at this weight but the strength and conditioning he does with alajera is ridiculously intense. But he is a true warrior and fought with his heart great fight just a bit suprised with the outcome

    the judging these days is crazy.. franklin should've won the henderson fight (or drawed). and wanderlie should've won this fight. i mean franklin landed the cleaner shots but wanderlei did more damage and was the aggressor of this bout... man.. its just like they say.. never leave it in the judges hands..

    This was a really good fight. Too bad the video sucked ass. Hopefully a better one will be put up.

    I think Rich won 'cause he landed more blows and controlled the fight more than Wanderlei. Wanderlei got some good shots in and arguably caused more damage overall in the fight but I would deduce the judges looked more at who got off more hits, had better ring control and controlled the opponent more. Ehh. I can't say if the decision was right but that's my two cents.

    You guys also need to realize Wanderlei is fighting higher caliber fighters in the UFC than he did in Pride. Come on, he crushed all those Jap cans. He did get some good victories over decent or good guys (most notably Jackson) but he's been fed nobody but ranked fighters in the UFC. Much different than in Japan.

    why does everybody want everybody to retire. this was a very close fight. silva is still very inspired when he fights and still has knockout power. franklin fought great, but i would like to see a better effort to finish. he seems happy to go to a decision.

    Silva dominate the entire fight landed more damage to Franklin I have no idea how he won the fight wand is in it for the fans and the rush of the fight, franklin is in it because he needed to win $$ money!! he has lost plenty of times and he was no longer in nobody's mind!

    The cut down from 205 to 195 for wanderlei might did a lil of cardio damage....idk

    yea i agree with the fact if he had more gas he would have finished rich, rich had that look that we saw when anderson kneed him in the nose! wanderlei's loss of gas gave rich the time to regroup and get back in the fight, i dont tink wanderlei should quit, neither should chuck, the only reason dana has said that chuck aint fightin no more now is cos he doesnt want chuck going to another organisation, the most famous mma fighter in the world would be a big draw for any organisation, thats why dana has decided to drop this now whil chuck is still under contract with one more fight outstanding.

    Count the number of times Franklin was hurt -- then count how many times Silva was. I was extremely surprised at this decision. I'm not a fan of either fighter in particular - that just seemed like very bad judging.

    I loved Wanderlei in pride he was so aggressive and the fights were always great. He has just taken soooo much punishment you have to wonder what his body will allow him to do anymore. Based on his last 5 or 6 fights I would say not nearly as much as it used to. All that being said he is still very entertaining and I love to watch him but it really saddens me that at 32 you can tell his best days are way in the past.
