    On top of that, sweat and blood (although there wasn't too much of it) also affect how slippery people are. I bet BJ Penn had sweaty feet and GSP was sweating too. Get off of Georges St. Pierre's [unintentionally vaselined] back. He has had fights after this one and won without any of this vaseline bullshit. So stfu and calm down.

    1st fight: Eye poke.
    2nd fight: Vaseline.
    Now both were unintentional, but who won when BJ Penn poked GSP's eye with no time to recover? I really like both fighters, but I have to say the vaseline did not make much of a difference. It would only evidently show when BJ tries to put his legs up higher on GSP's back. That's it.

    i really like how BJ bulked up and went to welter weight. but he had no chance against GSP. he should have gone against someone smaller and slower. at least Matt hughes cuz BJ and matt ar both good on the ground. and about that comment about GSP Bulin up to Middleweight vs. anderson silva. i think that it would be such a god fight cuz there both so quick but anderson jus has that strength and those crazy knees that might make it hard for GSP. but go GSP. gotta route for your fellow CANADIANS.

    I agree with the large portion of posters. Vaseline had absolutely nothing to do with this loss for BJ, AT ALL. The fight was dominated by GSP in the standing position as well. Maybe! Just maybe, a little vaseline on the shoulders of GSP prevented BJ of having 0 of the control on the ground in Bj's gaurd position, that he would have had on GSP. BJ couldn't have held GSP's strong ass down even without the Vaseline, GSP is too good of a wrestler, too strong, and too good of a ground and pound specialists. He's demonstrated this time and time again. So basically the Vaseline may have caused BJ to have 7% of ground control, compared to the usual ground control he'd have had against an athelete like GSP. Meaning, there is NO WAY IN HELL, that vaseline on the shoulders of GSP, played an even slightly significant part in such a dominating performance by GSP. That is the damn truth. Vaseline didn't help GSP take BJ down, over and over again, land jab and hook combinations over and over again, and land kicks over and over again. BJ was outclassed AND out muscled by a stronger opponent, true, but also a faster, taller, in better shape, and at least as skilled of an opponent. So BJ fans, quit the whining. Believe it or not, I ain't hatin, I actually like BJ as a fighter, I love watching him fight and am, what I would consider, a BJ fan, because I have so much respect for his talent. However, no matter what myself, or anyone else thinks, BJ got his ass handed to him by a better fighter, PERIOD. It is what it is. Vaseline or not. Let's let the man grieve his loss in peace, and leave him alone about it, and stop making excuses for him. Even the greatest champions in the world lose, eventually!!!

    I have to say that I called the stoppage of that fight watching BJ's face in the 4th round. His spirit was CRUSHED! The man had nothing left in the tank but he had no heart left either. Personally I predict that BJ is damaged goods now. Florian will walk over him because BJ's spirit is weak and he hasnt the discipline to bring his heart back after such a devatating loss. Before this BJ lost by narrow margins. He wont be able to handle this beating the way that a true champ like GSP has in the past.

BJ penn absolutely was struggling to finish Sherk but bj only had a chance due to his flexibility and reach. As for Silva vs GSP:Silva has never fought someone with anywhere near the skills of GSP.That would definately be a great fight to watch.

    I am a fan of neither fighter, but i respect both.Objectively, GSP owned B.J.GSP was clearly stronger; all other things being equal.At this level,every fighter knows everthing, therefore if you give up a HUGE EDGE like STRENGHTH AND SPEED, then you will have the same result 9/10 times. B.J needs to go to his natural weight division,where he is STRONGER.

    I love the comments about BJ moving up in weight, the guy has to cut about 30 pounds to fight at 155, he walks around at about 185 so don't make it out to be such a big deal. I also love the comment about him putting on fat. If you don't know anything about the fighters you are posting about, then don't post, he's always been a little pudgy like that. I was a little shocked to hear the controversy because St Pierre doesn't seem like the kind to cheat.     BJ won the title at this weight and went down when he got beat by St Pierre and Huges. He lost because he gassed out yet again. Everyone knows the secret to beating him is to push his cardio and he will break. While Anderson Silva is pretty well much a God the only hole in his game is wrestling. Luter exposed this. If St Pierre can take him down and control him them he has a great chance. However, i don't really want to see that fight because it cheapen's the weight class systems. They need to pump up the top 10 contenders so they don't have to resort to boxings pitfalls.

    First of all to address the guy saying, lets see GSP go up in weight to fight Silva. While Silvia is a big avid fighter he does not have the technique it takes to overcome GSP. GSP is constantly growing in his skill, mentally and physically. Of course Silvia has an amazing chin, with that I can not argue, but honestly, besides Silvias reach and size over GSP he has nothing. GSP has not fought anyone as big as Silvia but he has trained with Coture. Coture had problems with GSP and after seeing Coture completely dominate Silvia I think GSP will definitely take the win. I'd also like to address the matter when someone said people have problems moving weight classes. First I'd like to say you're an idiot. Coture did it and has a belt in every class. Also Anderson ""the Spider"" Silva has dominated his weight class and is moving up. I liked what the one guy said about, noone forced BJ to move up in weight by gaining fat. Obviously he has not been conditioning properly, at 155 he had tons of stamina now fighting GSP he looked like Hughes vs Gracie. At the end of the fight George was still fresh as if the fight first began. Obviously both of these fighters are world renowned fighters, but as far as skill as i stated above GSP is not even at the top of his game yet and he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

    I say GSP fighting Jon Fitch again, in 1 or 2 years. GSP came up with a win, by a desicion. Plus, Fitch already beat thiago. Then again, I would like to see a rematch Fitch versus Thiago.

    i was routing for BJ, but GSP is a true welter weight and physically over powered BJ.. i knew this fight was going to GSP. Don't matter though, BJ still a champ for bulking up to welterweight, let see GSP bulk up to middle weight and swap wish anderson silva, lol
