UFC veteran Kimo Leopoldo has been arrested this Monday on two felony charges and a misdemeanor in a bizzare incident that took place in Tustin, CA. The fighter who, despite losing, managed to wear out early UFC champion Royce Gracie enough for him to quit UFC 3 (which was Leopoldo's first appearance), has not appeared in the ring since 2006, suffering three consecutive losses beforehand. Drawing attention to himself from two plainclothes officers, Leopoldo has been spotted in a parking lot wearing a jumpsuit police uniform, designated for officers to wear during major disaster conditions, such as earthquakes. He was wearing sandals and was playing with a yo-yo.

The police report states that Leopoldo did not try to identify himself as a police officer and was arrested without incident. When questioned how he has gotten hold of the uniform, Leopoldo has produced numerous conflicting stories. A search of the fighter's car has revealed a glass pipe and a small amount of a substance that is considered to be metamphetamine.

Leopoldo has had drug trouble in the past. In 2004 he has been suspended from fighting for six months after having admitted to taking the anabolic steroid stanozolol and other stimulants, following a loss to Ken Shamrock at UFC 48. He had later failed a pre-fight steroids test in 2006, which had effectively cancelled his planned fight against Bas Rutten .

Leopoldo is being held on $20,000 bail at the Intake/Release Center in Orange County, CA.
