Hughes Serra
You got it right! This AIN'T kickboxing! It's MMA--meaning 'laying on your opponent', trying to gain a position where you can submit or 'ground & pound' is a HUGE part of the match! If you want kickboxing, WATCH kickboxing! If Serra was truly better, #1-he wouldn't have gotten taken down..#2-he would've been able to reverse the position. If not for the head-butt and back-of-the-head shot, I think Hughes would've finished the fight.

Hughes controlled the fights' position and tempo. Whine all you want to, he won via the point system.

Serra won that fight. He still looks fresh and able to hang in the UFC. Hughes looks tired and done; those judges need to go.

lololololol r u kidding man? he ate a headbutt to the chin and was bigtime in trouble, and STILL held on, everyone complaining he held on, but maybe he was recovering from that ? and i mean, on this level, u want them to get stood up but, this isnt kickboxing, smothering your opponent and landing as many small shots with the greater goal of finishing him with some big one's or sub, is just as 'acceptable' as wanting to stand and bang.. the fact that there wasnt much action sucked but, it could onyl be expected in that kind of matchup... go watch the krystof fight or the mcfedries fight if you want ko's and punching.. morons

I was a little disspointed to see the fight goto Hughes, especially after Serra hurt him bad in the 1st round. But I can understand the decision, because Hughes was on top of serra a lot and took him down a couple times. However, I thought that last take down Serra did iced the cake for him in the fight. This fight could have gone either way but I think Serra kinda out the W. Glad Hughes felt hit power, he can no longer say it was a fluke that Serra won the belt after hitting GSP with that hard punch.

Why does Serra's face look so F'ed up if all Hughes did was lay on him? He must have some delicate skin. The only damage Serra did was with a head butt that knocked him out and he still couldnt finish the fight. I think the judges got this one right.
