    Ref should have definitely broke the clinchs/hugs/cage rubbing much more frequently...

    ....not the worst decision ever, but still pretty bad, Vera was certainly more effective, just negated by the weak aforementioned tactics.

    Need judges with better criteria, or eyes.

    Close fight but No one got robbed
    rd 1: Couture (boring as hell but he won it)
    rd 2: Vera ( Randy controlled most of round 2 until the body kicks)
    rd 3: Couture (This was close to a draw- Randy was the aggressor)
    Overall: I would not have been surprised if Vera won it on the judges score cards, but it was way to close to be called a robbery.

    No Lowkickdodger, you couldn't. Boxing doesn't have a strategic clinch game. They just tie each other up. Randy was getting clinch and slowly, strategically picking Vera apart. If the ref hadn't broken them up so much Randy would have inflicted much more damage. Bad ref.

    Normally, you seem to kind of know what you're talking about. Randy did not effectively wrestle Vera or do much of anything in the clinch. Clearly, Vera had an edge striking with accuracy and damage.

    Overall, I would say this was a not exciting match-up. Randy cant fight like he used to and Vera seemed reluctant to try and finish the old man.

    Another great decision by the judges. Seriously where do they find these guys. The post interviews say it all, Randy was even surprised to hear his own name. Thanks for another boring clinch fight Couture, if you somehow fight again try and inflict just a little bit of damage next time. Looking forward to seeing Vera fight again.

    The fact that Randy is even viable out there at age 46 is pretty incredible. But his style gives the sport a bad name. it's like watching a boxing match when the fighters just embrace each other the whole time. Vera didn't look so hot either. These guys are ok but can't hang with the likes of T. Silva, Rashad, Shogun, or Machida.

If the ref wasn't such a retard the fight would have seen much more damage to Vera and less to Couture. Very got screwed once by this idiot ref too when they stopped moving for one second when Vera was on top of Randy (can't remember if Vera was in guard or had mount) and the ref stood them up. This ref, like the majority of the posters on this thread, should stick with boxing. You are not smart enough to understand MMA. Now go ahead and click WEAK you silly monkeys.

    wow the hudges are really fking up hard lately. holdig some one against the fence should not win a points, couture was just stalling the fight the whole time, in pride they gave yellow cards for that so u actually lost points, but in the ufc they give u points for doing that. vera clearly won the fight, u have to be fuked in the head to say he didnt, so i guess all the judges r fuking retards. i lost all respect for randy last night and am increasingly losing respect for the ufc.....     I don't wanna see Randy vs Machida if Randy's gonna think its enough to get a win by pressing someone against the cage without effective takedowns. Clinching forever is like not anting to fight, not engaging and should be penalized. Vera won the fight but has to improve his game. Like his corner said, don't stay in front of himm !!! lol

    Randy won this fight with control and dirty boxing...plus a few knees here and there. Exciting fight....not in the least. Did randy win? Yes he did. Vera did damage, but not enough, and for all you who think that Randy just kept hugging on him....well it's not like Vera really did anything to stop it now did he. Deal with it, not every fight is going to be the best fight you've ever seen ok.

    Vera was robbed. And just to clear it up, the UFC has nothing to do with the judges, they are picked by the state commission and you Dana haters need to quit blaming him for the judges decisions. If Dana rigged the fight, why would he make it so boring?

    Yes it was close, but if you break down how the judges are SUPPOSED to score, Vera won.

    Why is it that whenever there's a close fight, and a decision must be made, people say somebody was robbed?

    I think if Vera didn't allow Couture to get up off the ground at the end of the 3rd, then he would have won.

    It was close...and I don't see how anybody can be very adamant about Vera getting "robbed."

    Vera has great takedowns defend & accurate striking..still not good for the judges?? Machida also has great takedown defend & accurate striking but he won the match. I juz don understand with the ****ing judges.Vera looks to finish the fight but Randy juz went for clinching against the cage & didn't do much damage like Vera did.. I think the ****ing judges favors the fans favourite. I still go with Vera..Anyway for this month Strikeforce took everything..

    I have to say i was going for couture naturally, but i think vera got ripped off in that fight. Couture may have had him against the cage most of the round, but vera had the take downs and his strikes were way more effective. Isnt that what the judges say they look for? (Machida vs Shogun).

    Vera did not get robbed, Randy won even though he performed very poorely. That tells us how overrated Vera is. Randy won first and third round and if someone scored the second round 10-8 to Vera, you need to go the doctor and check your head.

    Another possibley controversial descision from the judges! Clearly they have never been leg kicked or body kicked because they need to be awarding more points for the damage that Vera did! On the other hand good octogon control from Randy but he really needs to step up his game if he wants to acctually compete and win fights convincingly at this level. At the end of the day this is a sport for people to watch and people don't wanna watch some guy lean on some other guy, however technical his leaning is.

    Though it was close, Vera won the fight. Vera did the most damage and had a take down. Randy just held Vera up against the cage and did practically nothing. Was Randy really trying to fight or just hold Brandon against the cage in order to get enough points to squeak by a win.

    vera defenly did most damaged , and the only takedown , and randy just controlled vera in the clinch! i was surprise by the desicion but come on vera! youre like 15 years younger ! taller ! vs a man whos nearly 50!
    i think considering randys age , randy won the fight! vera should have at least tko randy!

    One of the most boring main event of the evening ever ! Couture seemed to try to gain some points just enough for the judge but not too much because he dont wanted to get trouble in stand up by Vera. I think that Dana won't put couture on the main event again. An finally another main event with controverse with the judge card !

    wasnt impressed with couture at all, he won the fight but lost the war, I dont think he has what it takes to compete with the best at 205 anymore
