Machida is no doubt a great fighter, but Evans DID look unusually slow and not taking it to the ground was a freakin mystery. Not saying Machida didn't deserve it, but Evans certainly got a better fight in him than that. His perspective on the fight is A+ too.

Still Cocky?
He's humble now after he got knocked out by Machida. Rashad was saying that Machida doesn't even hit hard? Are you kidding me? Why don't you watch the fight again? No more excuses. You got knocked out, period! Machida is the new champion now.

Machida is gonna be the champion for a LONG TIME, i think he could even beat Anderson Silva, if they fought which is very possible since Silva is fighting Forrest Grifen at ufc 102 ^.^ gonna be a sick fight

I wonder tho if the fight went into a draw....would he have been saying all this stuff? I think he would have been all cocky and still talk trash....Its good that he complementing Machida but I think he's using this time to be on the spotlight again, I do hope he gets back up and try to get a rematch.......only to get destroyed again. Sorry Rashad, the dragon owns you.

I just became a fan...
he explains the inner turmoil competitors face. He is owning up to his feeling and the reality of the fight game. He is a true fighter now. good luck Rashad!

You guys are seeing what you want to see. Rashad was not being cocky in this interview. I didn't especially like or dislike Rashad, although I was rooting for Machida during their fight. Personally, I thought it was a really interesting interview. It is not often that you hear a fighter talking in-depth about mental preparedness and the fight game, even though it is extremely important. I thought it was cool to see a fighter open up and discuss what was going on in his head leading up to and during the fight.
I don't think he was making excuses either. Every fight is won or lost for a reason. Stating the reason why you think you lost a fight does not necessarily mean you are making excuses.
This interview has actually made me a bigger fan of Rashad Evans.

just admit machida was the better fighter.. none of this "I felt like I was losing weeks before..."
you were confused by the style and beaten by a better fighter..
admit it and move on

Dreaming about losing before it happened....being in great shape but something was missing....something wasn't right...someone that uses wrestling could give him troubles....blah blah blah
Machida is better than you, period.
I still see the cocky Rashad in this vid, he's just using the loss as a bit of a smokescreen
