Report: Fedor Camp Wants 1 Fight Deal With UFC

Despite the fact that Fedor Emelianenko still has a stern challenge facing him in the upcoming and final bout of his current Affliction contract, namely, former UFC champ Josh Barnett, speculation as to where the “Last Emperor” will end up fighting next continues to heat up. In fact, it’s apparently more rampant than tabloid banter wondering if Eminem was in fact really ‘pissed’ at the recent MTV Move Awards. (Alas, we know he wasn’t…)

The topic of Fedor’s future, and regarding whether or not he has one with the UFC, was a common theme at Affliction’s press conference in NYC earlier this week, and after heading out west to Cali, nothing’s changed. According to a post on the LA Times Sports blog, M-1 Global CEO Joost Raimond (the company which helps put together Fedor beatdowns across the globe) has stated that they are interested in having Fedor fight the winner of the upcoming UFC 100 heavyweight title fight between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. Problem is, Fedor’s management is only interested in a one fight deal. (Thanks to BloodyElbow.com for the heads up) As Raimond furthered:



“They want the fighter’s mind, soul, body, heritage and his two cats and dog if they can get it,” Raimond was quoted saying in the LA Times post. “Let’s not do this with Fedor. Let’s try to figure out how to do this, because Fedor is willing to fight anyone, anytime, anywhere.”

    FEDOR the UFC HW Champ RETIRER
    I hope he does sign for a 1 fight contract and takes the UFC title and leaves with it lol. Brock cant do that lay on and smother tactic with Fedor, and he sure as hell doesnt have a chance standing with him, Even when Fedor is hurt he is just as dangerous if hes not. GOD, IF THERE IS A GOD. PLEASE LET FEDOR's MANAGEMENT COME TO AN AGREEMENT WITH UFC FOR A 1 TITLE FIGHT CONTRACT SO THAT FEDOR CAN PUT LESNAR TO SLEEP AND SHUT DANA WHITE UP FOR GOOD.

    lesnars gonna stomp mir but not fedor YET,,, they say lesnar is a super athlete and has a fast learning curve. look how many wrestlers turned into great fighters.. example, henderson, hughes, couture. now take that 280 super athlete that is fast and also stronger than anyone in mma. u give lesnar 3 years and a bunch more fights hed sweep the floor w fedor. hes 50 pounds heavier and his camp says hes damn near impossible to submit rite now... theres alotta people that wanna blow fedor lets face it. im just bein a realist hes not big and slow hes big and fast and thats a dangerous combo

    Why don't you guys wait and see Mir vs Lesner before you claim Brock is king....Brock is powerful this is true but if you know anything about MMA you know Gracie has beaten much more powerful guys with simple grappling skills. Mir will win this fight, then the discussion can begin about Fedor vs the heavyweight with any competition to his skills.

    Dana White is most likely not going to agree to the contract, because he knows Fedor is going to show how UFC is nothing to Fedor, and all the smack Dana said about Fedor is going to show how ignorant Dana is.

    i dont want to sound smart or anything. but... cro cop faught al turk. real weak fighter cro cop had to win that. cro cop will fight one more fight to warm the people up for his fight after that. he will fight a well known opponent a good fighter a strong fighter a popular one not to mention. people need to realize this sport is all about money. its a business. cro cop WILL fight fedor in a year or so from now. you mark my words. dana is a money man. he wants to get as much money out of his business as he can. and thats why 2 of the biggest names EVER in mma history are gonna have a rematch. the outcome is hard to say now. yes mirko is a bit rusty and not looking as he has looked before. but has anyone seen any fedor fights lately. so is he. he is slow. and tall. fat and.. not to mention slow. a great fighter no doubt. mirko much faster much more versitile. pardon my spelling. and that is the truth. MIRKO VS FEDOR expect is halfway through 2010.

    All the WWE fans drooling over Brock take away from his actual ability: He really is a good fighter and champion level athlete. He isn't a martial artist like Frank or Fedor, but thats not what UFC is about. I don't care for his style personally, but he is a good fighter, period. Frank and Fedor are much more my type of MMA fighter. Time for a good contract between the UFC and Fedor. As much as I love Fedor and everything he represents, a 1 fight deal is just bad business. He still has to beat Barnett on August 1, or this wont matter anyway.

    they r treating it as if he signs his soul away this is not the case! he signed multi-fight deals with other organizations an he should b willin to at least three fights that not to ask from the emperor! if he wants to riegn supreme then he would have to conqure all opponents who stand in his way even if he has to cross a bridge ( like the ufc) to get to them. all great rulers had to cross great distancec to fight the wars they needed to claim their victory an lay claim on what they desire an if fightin the best is whats in fedors heart i say at least three fights an then u can go from thare!!!!

    must be wwe fans wow!--anyway GSP said fedor is thebest fighter in the world and most ufc fighters agree --and lesnar is not even close to fedor,if he got lucky with a punch he would have a chance because of his great power,but i see him losing to fedor easily

    Fedor is definitely better than anyone out there right now...I want to see him fight in the UFC cause im bored out of my mind from Afflictions so-called MMA fights....honestly they are so poorly run its rediculous...they have to give away tickets to fill the stands...and considering you have the best MMA fighter in the world on your cards...thats pretty SAD!
    I hope Dana accepts Fedor's offer to fight in the UFC and hopefully that will be the end of Affliction's short lived MMA events....hopefully there skulled filled poor quality tees also go away...apparently you can buy them at Costco anyway!

    The Dream of all real MMA-Fans ....Fedor fights against UFC Champions!!!
    At his Pride Domination he fights the best Fighters in the World and beat them all!!! Now with Affliction, he beats former UFC Champions easily! i cant believe that anybody thinks he had something to prove! For me, he is the Michael Jordan of MMA and he dont need the UFC!!!

    dude fedor is great dont get me wrong but brock is massive and so agile for his size and he keeps improving i thought at one point that fedor was the greatest heavyweight at this time but i think lesnar has that spot now.....and if fedor wants to prove that he is the greatest then join the ufc and fight the greatest fighters in the world not some of the older washed up ufc heavyweights like arlowski and sylvia fight lesnar and mir and couture who are evolving im just sick of people being up fedors ass for what he has done if he ever fights lesnar which he wont unless lesnar loses then dana might set it up for 1 fight between lesnar and fedor so lesnar can smash fedor so people can stop talkin about how the ufc doesnt have the best pfp fighter....

    If fedor comes to ufc it wont be just for a one fight deal..... cause brock will knock him out with those 4X gloves. He will then, beg for a rematch. Fedor aint faught anyone good in years. Arlovski....has no chin what so ever, and tim silvia dont even get me started. Best heavyweight talent is in ufc. Its about time he wanted to come play with the best in the world.

    i cannot understand why kids are calling fedor a little bitch and all that kind of stuff...fedor and his camp does not want to be a possession of the UFC. It would have been much sooner its just because of the contract issues that the UFC will not give up on... and besides since the UFC has Brock as the champ it kinda does not give the The UFC Heavy weight title substance or recognition any more... but all other weights are stacked with great fighters

    i dont think dana will want to sign that deal for ufc, it wouldnt make sense to them especially if fedor wins (what if he decides not to defend the title against another ufc fighter?). maybe this deal would be possible if the contract stated that if fedor wins, he should have the rest of his fights under ufc terms with other ufc fighters. what do u think dana?

    Fedor is good, but ive seen major flaws in his boxing. He is gonna go to sleep when he fights an outstanding boxer and everyone will see he is a little bit overrated, though he is still an outstanding fighter.

    then he should sign up for more than one fight he's good but if he's gonna fight and win then he should def the title and not run and all that about him wanting to fight in sambo look at it this was he signs a four fight deal and is alowed to fight some where els he gets hurt and can't fight to deffend his ufc title who looses the ucf why have a guy that can't fight and still pay him naaaaaaa thats all bull if you say ur the best in the world then fight everyone out there and then u can say i am the best until then ur one of the best out there thats all

    UFC would never allow a 1 fight contract vs the champ for anyone because u cant leave the UFC as the champ. just ask Randy. you can only leave once u have lost ur tittle and for thos asking why wont he sign a longer deal... well if you knew anything about Fedor and the UFC you would know that once you sign with the UFC you are to fight in only UFC events which means Fedor would not be allowed to fight Sambo which is his 1st love and national sport.

    He won't get a 1 fight deal and definatly not against the UFC heavyweight champion. If this guy doesn't care who he fights why does he not sign a 3-4 fight contract? For the "best MMA fighter ever" this makes he look like a coward, he wants to go to the UFC win then leave and say he conquered the UFC.....by winning 1 fight?

    I want to see Fedor vs a clone of himself. Fedor vs Fedor, that way Fedor will finally loose and everyone will see that he is human, but he will also win agains his #1 contender, and "best heavyweight in the world". That will shut the critics up for sure..

    Don't flame me for writing this because I believe Fedor is the best heavyweight in the world hands down. However he has had a lot of fights, he wasn't in great shape against Andre and anything can happen on any given night. Honestly I think Lesnar would have little to no chance of beating Fedor (a lucky punch that's it) however Mir I think with his much improved standup and excellent ground game could give Fedor a great fight. We don't know if Mir's Cardio can last 5 rounds and odds are if it went that long Fedor would win via decision but Mir has all the tools to make it very interesting.
