Ryan Couture, the son of UFC hall of famer Randy "The Natural" Couture, has signed on to the growing Strikeforce roster. The 27 year old member of Xtreme Couture will make his professional debut as a Lightweight and will face Lucas Stark on August 13th, at the Strikeforce Challengers event to be held at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. Couture will look to carry on the family legacy in his professional mixed martial arts career after compiling an amateur record of 5-1-1, all wins coming by way of submission.
Meanwhile, Spike TV has officially confirmed that UFC 120, the promotion's first trip to the UK this year, will in fact be aired on the network . The card will feature three of the promotion's top British stars including Michael Bisping, Dan Hardy, and John Hathaway.
Headlining the event will be Micheal Bisping (19-3-0) hoping to capitalized on his latest victory over Dan Miller at UFC 114 when he faces Yoshihiro Akiyama (13-2-0), who will look to rebound following his recent submission loss to Chris Leben.
The heavy-handed Brit Dan Hardy (23-7-0), in his first bout since his failed attempt at capturing the division title at UFC 111, will look to bounce back when he meets former WEC champion Carlos Condit (25-5-0).
Rising lightweight star John Hathaway (14-0-0), who pulled off an impressive upset victory over Diego Sanchez at UFC 114, will meet Mike Pyle (19-7-1), who hopes to continue building momentum after his own win over Jesse Lenox at UFC 115.
The Pay-per-View quality card is set to air on Spike TV on Saturday, October 20th at 9:00pm ET/PT from the O2 Arena in London, England.

That's why they are giving it to you, and using their free event card they've been keeping in their wallets.

BTW
Don't you love how the UFC tries to act like they're doing something nice, when they're really just broadcasting on spike because they'd lose their asses charging $ for this event.

I think the UFC is actually pretty good about putting on quality shows... It seams to be their biggest concern. This is a weak card, so they're not charging for it. Should say "thank you". IMO.

Bisping shouldn't be headlining this event. Both Hardy and Hathaway have more credibilty.
...and the fact that Bisping gets a listed ( not including bonuses, endorsements ect) amount of $250,000 just to show for an event while guys like Mir and Carwin are in the $55,000 to $65,000 range is just sickening.
If anything, Hardy is a bigger draw and in a short time Hathaway will be a bigger than both of them.

I agree on all fronts. Not sure what the UFC's love affair with Bisping is all about, but they have pretty much made him their UK poster boy. Bisping has won 2 of his last 4 and beat Kang and Miller, hardly headliner material. The only credible fighter he's really beaten other than the controversial decision over Hamill was Leben, and that by decision. I think the Hardy/Condit fight would be a much better headliner, and the fight should certainly mean more in terms of title implications. Nice to have a free event, but give us a title fight for free, the UFC can certainly afford to do it.

Hathaway should be getting a bigger fight than Pyle. Nothing against Pyle, but Hathaway is on another level.

He was originally scheduled to meet Dong Hyun "Stun Gun" Kim, who is also undefeated and a huge division prospect, but Kim was forced to pull out due to injury and Pyle was brought in as a replacement. That was really disappointing, as that was really the match I was most excited to see.... Those two are a couple of names that are on top of my list of fighters to watch out for...

I can actually say Hathaway is by far the most appealing fighter from the UK and I look forward to his fight very much.

dude UK fighters are annoying as shyt we have hardy and bispin leading the back when it should be guys like hathaway, and pearson being the face of UK mma. nobody wants to hear those half retarted accents talking about how good they are on the feet when they are mediocre at best... probablly murdered that spelling but thats ok (:
