  guy 2 posts above, you are right.. this isn't even a big fight for him, i think fitch was bigger test than alves.. just for KO power maybe not.. but yeah. alves is f***ed. he has no options here, he'll never sub gsp from his back and will only give up POS if he goes for it.. is over for him, punchers chance

  Alves got stopped by a man that GSP completely outclassed (Jon Fitch). He is very one dimensional (low kick, knees and wild punches) and is not intelligent enough to amend his game plan when it goes wrong.
  
  Alves is very strong and very aggressive but that does not make a great figher. He does not have the tools to deal with a 'total fighter' like GSP.If people beleive that GSP can not take him down they are mistaken, Fitch, Koz, Hughes and Penn were all world class in either wrestling or BJJ and GSP took them down at will.
  
  What world class fighter has Alves beaten when they were in their prime?
  
  Alves has a punchers chance, but I see this fight being another one sided contest. The only way I'd bet on Alves is if this were a bench pressing contest!

  "ONLY WAY I SEE GSP WINNING IS GNP" ... are you kidding? .... Look at Georges career. He's put guys on the group with 1 shot in numerous fights, (Jay Hieron, Matt hughes 2, Fitch although he didn't finish) ...... He's subed Hughes, Trigg, .... He's pounded out Serra, BJ etc. And he's never lost a decision.
  
  The only way Thiago can win is by Ko or a devastating shot followed by GNP, ...... he can't win a decision or by sub.

  i think it really depends on thiago's ground game. If he can continually get up and keep it standing thiago will win. only way i see gsp winning is gnp
