    Impressive stand up for Mir, mayby Kongo was thinking about takedown defence too much all throughout the fight. I still want to see Nog vs Mir because 2nd time around it's not going to be easy for Mir. But overall a good performance for Mir,..................................although Congo is a very onedimentional fighter and not a top10 fighter.......................with ZERO ground game so Mir would have won the fight either way

    thats that same left hand that f***ed up big nog. it was just faster... and more powerful... and more accurate... and yes he did see where it was going to land. just because he wasnt looking directly at kongos chin, doesnt mean he cant see. he turned his head slightly to gain better follow through power while still able to see with his peripheral vision. great stand up display by mir. even better submission. i mean come on... a guillotine from a half guard that wasnt even a solid half guard. impressive

    The octagon was 70% full by the beginning of the second UNDERCARD fight, not the entire card. The arena was pretty much sold out and packed by the time the main card started.

    i was hoping Mir would demonstrate his stand up is very good and much improved. Dana kept saying that its his hole in his fight game which i totally disagree with. May not be as advanced as his ground game but is still very good. Cant wait to see him fight Lesnor again. that is if Lesnor doesnt loose to Carwin which i think he would.

    Mir got into Kongo's head with all the shit talk before the fight. Kongo's confidence seemed really low. Kongo is no longer looking viable as a contender. His weaknesses have been exposed and he hasn't managed to evolve very much during his UFC career. I think he should think about switching camps, rebuild his game from the ground up. He is a phenomenal athelete. This might sound crazy but I think he should think about cutting down to LHW. he could hover at 220 and then cut before the fight. His length could help him defend take downs. His reach advantage would be amazing over most of the guys in that division. I think that's his best bet. Trade in the superman physique for leverage power. Toss him in there with Bones Jones. How's he going to beat these superheavy weight wrestlers and grapplers?

    I am impressed with Mir´s standing improvement I would like to see him against lesnar for the 3rd time, but before that I would like to see how hw does against Velazquez or Carwin, he got huge, I do not think that a rematch with Nog will do any good for Mir now, he needs to fight bigger guys to get used to the fact that Lesnar is still going to be stronger that him and fighting people like Velazquez is going to give a chance to improve his wrestling skills and he fights Carwin or Dos santos will improve his stand up, but so far so good if he fights and wins against Carwin or Velazquez he is getting a rematch against Lesnar next year...

    Kongo changed his game and tried to avoid the take down. He would have done better to stick to his style instead of change things up and try boxing with mir. Mir has very good boxing skills and proved that tonight and against Nogueira . MMA can go any way but I think Frank was the favorite and showed his is the better fighter. He never insulted Kongo and as far as I can tell gave him respect. Mir said Kongo had great stand up skills which he does. He said Kongo had a bad ground game but was speaking objectively of the fight and his opponent.

    Frank Mir didn't get lucky with that punch. He is a fighter and landed a very nice punch. Did many people think that Kongo even had a chance. Mir was by far and away the better Mixed Martial Arts fighter. Remember guys it just isn't a boxing match here. He did win with a submission.

    I'm as stunned as everyone else. I did NOT expect that. I was thinking the fight would play out a bit more with some back-and-forth striking and Mir trying to take Kongo down. You could just see how tight that choke was by the way Frank was squeezing. Wow, I'm stunned. Sucks for Kongo. Maybe we'll see a rematch some time in the future (probably after a rematch with Nog though).

    ^^^Agreed. Couture did handle Lesnar's wrestling much much better than Mir. I am not sure why Mir is so stuck on putting on weight.     Before the fight with Lesnar Mir said that he would submit easily because brock didn't konw the name of the submissions. After Mir lost to Lesnar he talked crap about how he just needs to get stronger. Couture, who is 220, handled Lesnar much better then Mir. Mir has 20 pounds of muscle, but if he doesn't have an answer for Lesnar's wrestling and ground control I don't think it will matter. At least a serious Mir will make for more interesting fights.

    Mir didn't hold the choke forever. Kongo didn't tap out. Also I've never seen someone bulk up that quickly. Mir must have put in lots of work. He now has power. And the win over Big Nog will not be looked at as a fluke. But UFC HW is still messed up. I say Carwin should face winner of Cain and Nog for interim title. And Mir should face the winner of the latter
