    just cause your face is busted up doesnt mean he won the fight he got pocked in the eye and a uppercut nicked his nose wich caused it to bleed... gsp had more control in that fight he had like more than 30 leg kicks and alot of punches that landed bj didnt land half as much and gsp had alot of takedowns and defended a take down and defended a submission... retards stfu

    Bj should've won that fight! He out smart and out fight Gsp. look how **** up he looks. Its all about technical and being smart when it comes fighting and BJ deliver that in this fight. RD 3 is a cry for desperations take downs for Gsp. Penn took control 2and half rounds of the fight. eventhough he gaspping for air. thats a fighter! able to adopt and control. BJ has nothing compared to GSP, no fighter has GSP qualities as an almost perfect overalll MMA fighter, not just good in 1, 2, 3, things, GSP is excellent in every aspect of MMA, hes the future of what ur going to be/need as a fighter in the UFC. If u were to create ur own army and/or fighter, GSP would be the mold 2 start from or with.     I didnt think that much skill & talent could of gotten much better from sept 08 - jan 09. Jackson afterr the Fitch fight, said ...""if u thought GSP was amazing/incredible etc... u havnt seen anything yet"" OUCH!!! Though AGAIN GSP proved me/alot of us wrong & that he could & still can get bigger & better as a fighter. I called for months GSP would pound BJ in the 2nd fight, BUT I wasnt expecting a 1 way ass kicking. It was GSP VS Fitch but with heavier & more accurtae punches a very bad thing 4 BJ, & GSP's cardio again 2nd to noone, not even close. Only reason Fitch looked alot worst than BJ did is b/c of how BJ's face is xtremely difficult to cut/hurt. Evan Rogan says during the fight ""this is the 1st time we've seen BJ cut in a fight, a very long time"". Trash talking never made anyone any tougher, hard work and training does GSP's proof of that. BJ should have spent more time in the gym instead of promoting himself and sh!t talking on the beach, and now he wants a rematch?, he must still be punch drunk from the last beating. I wouldn't go to Vagas again for that, sh!t I wouldn't even buy it on PPV because I know what's going to happen, another beating!!     Natural talent is great...but hard work, determination, strong character and humility are the traits of a true champion. Nothing wrong with backing your favorite fighter, or having confidence, but talking like you're God and like everyone else is crap is just pathetic. Like BJ says...""Talk is cheap"". I used to be a big Penn fan and followed him through his early days as a BJJ white belt, fastest American to achieve Blackbelt, until he was the first non-Brazillian to win World's, in the UFC, K-1, and when he returned to the UFC. He was awesome. Now he's a schmuck. Prodigy: ""a person, esp. a child or young person, having extraordinary talent or ability"". That was him. Problem is, his bad attitude and ego got in the way of him ever building on that as he could have. BJ settled for ""good enough"" instead of trying to be the best he could be...but he runs his mouth like he's the best ever. Natural born talent is great...but hard work, determination, strong will, character, and humility...these are traits that make a true champion and earn respect... like GSP.

    Rubber Guard? No, not really.
    Did anyone else notice BJ Penn trying to use the rubber guard but he was grabbing on to his ankle incorrectly, which GSP could posture out of and break easier? Congrats to GSP, its amazing to see him transition so many different levels of MMA so effectively. And his level of respect off the mat is all the more impressive for it. Him and Rich Franklin are easily earn me as fans for that approach to MMA in UFC.

    [size=small][/size]this is a fix fight. looking back his last fight with gsp he did alot of damage to gsp. but this fight if you smart you could tell bj peen didnt even fighting out they was just pushing each other in the beginning and at the end they throw a few punch and that was it. watching the fight i was so disappointed. i hope next time you show us your real skill bj.

    Knew it, almost carbon copy of last benn/hughes fight.Ben was a total let down again.No stamina. But saying that GSP is the best fighter i've ever seen and i have been watching mma for as long as i can remember.     If you actually look back at the fight and see what happened, The eye poke, and the glancing shot to break the nose, that's all Penn had in the 1st round. As for the second and third, GSP was not dominant, nor was Penn, but in points it was obvious GSP won it with takedowns. If you take away the eye poke the glancing blow and the takedowns, it was a dead heat match. I think that it will go the distance, and the result will be determined by how much stamina Penn has. GSP has a fairly strong chin and good defense, it will be hard for Penn to land a clean bomb on him. I say GSP on cards. GSP wins, that will solidify him as a dominant player in the history of MMA Penn wins, ditto. Penn has the most to lose, although it's GSP's belt on the line.

    Bj Peen is gonna out fight St. Pierre for sure. BJ Penn is the master of the ground game but would rather scrap it out. His hands are wicked and has never been knocked out. The last time they fought St. Pierre's post fight interviews were all from the hospital and he had a buss up face. St. Pierre is an amazing athlete for sure but so is BJ Penn who I believe is more skilled in all aspects.

    Your all crazy, Penn almost won the first fight. Gsp looked like he got jumped by some thuggz. Penn was outa shape, his first fight back and gsp couldn't knock him out or tap him.     BJ has gotten better at fighting at 155. This is 170. Minus an eye poke and nose clip this time, GSP will dominate. BJ has really only improved his conditioning. His technique is still the same. GSP has improved every aspect of his game. GSP trains against top fighters. BJ has had the same camp for 10 years. I like both fighters but GSP wins easily. Being a ""Prodigy"" still means you have to adapt to remain on top.

    The scoring goes by round not damages for the whole fight. Like I said before you can only score once per punch or kick. There is no extra for blood, one punch or in this case a poke under the eye and a nick on the tip of the nose don't get any extra points in the 2nd & 3rd rounds. If he had truly dominated the first round he might have won that round by 2 points or more. The winner of each round gets 10 and the other gets 9 or less, that's it. It was close but, he lost the 2nd & 3rd and didn't do enough in the 1st to cover the difference.

    yea dude, GSP didn't do anything remotely close to hurting Bj. he took him down, did nothing. but its obvious who was the better fighter, regardless of now. clearly, in this fight, bj had better stand up, and was better on the ground. GSP is training just as hard or a little harder that then + bj penn is training twice as hard as then & is eating a good diet. no way gsp gets #2. as if he got #1. if it wasn't scoring and it was just a fight, everyone would know it was penn. next one won't go to the cards, go penn i like how gracious GSP is. but i equally love penns desire to win and killer instinct. GSP isn't so cool when he loses he only makes excuses.

    i've always heard that the winner is (supposed to be) the one who does the MOST damage. in this case it was CLEARLY Bj penn. who at the time trained 1/2 as much as he does now, he'll win Jan.31st ~ forget GSP who finally showed how dominate & at his best against who? Matt Serra - no cred. if anything i'll respect GSP if he pulls of this victory over Penn, which i doubt.

    it's not worth as much. The slam by GSP was the icing on the cake. Later he stopped a BJ takedown attempt against the fence. BJ was looking at the clock when he should have been fighting and then GSP took him down again. The gogoplata was too little too late and maybe if he had done it earlier he might have been able to pull it off. So in the end it should not have been a spilt decision but, a 29-28 unanimous one. Anyone who says this guy will do that is just guessing and hoping. Anyone can get lucky or someone could make a mistake and anything could happen. Just remember the 1st GSP/Serra fight. Or the 1st Jens Pulver/Penn fight. It should be good because both fighters have gotten better since this fight.

    I'm not a fan of either fighter but, I do think they are both great at what they do. Penn's flexibility from the guard is amazing and is a good boxer. I think people give too much credit at the sight of blood, the shot to the nose was barely on the tip and the cut under the eye was from a poke not a punch. They don't give extra points for blood, you only get credit once per punch or kick. If GSP had to go to the hospital it was only for stitches which could have been done at any Dr's office. The 1st round was close, remember no extra credit for blood, and GSP landed some kicks but, BJ landed more punches so give it to BJ. The next 2 rounds were good with both trading punches and knees but, the takedowns do count as does takedown defense. The fact that GSP was able to get BJ down while many other fighters can't shows how good he is. You also get credit for being able to get out of the guard and get back up which BJ did but, it's not equal. The takedown has to be worth more points. That slam was the icing on the cake. Also GSP prevented a takedown along the fence and then took BJ down again. BJ was looking at the clock when he should have been fighting. The gogoplata attempt at the end was too little too late, maybe with a little more time he might have been able to pull it off. So I believe it should have been unanimous 29-28. Anyone who says this guy will do this or that is just guessing and hoping. Just like in football, ""On any given Sunday"" anyone could get lucky and beat anyone else. A great example was the 1st GSP/Serra fight. So anything could happen but, it should be a great fight because both have improved since then. I only wish Hughes and Serra will be as good. I liked Serra for being the short underdog and he is from LI, NY against GSP but, didn't like his unsportsmanlike comments on the TUF show. And lately Hughes hasn't looked so great but, might be motivated by the before mentioned comments of Serra.

    I can't believe all the GSP lovers in this fight. I agree he won the decision, but it was far from anything but BJ's lack of conditioning. As early as the first round he was feeling it. Then virtually zombied the next two rounds with a chance of a Gogoplata at the end of round 3. BJ will win this fight convincingly. GSP only has wrestling which is good when your opponent has a short gas tank. But with BJ showing up in shape this fight will end in the 2nd round via TKO!

    Penn doesn't have an edge on the ground, he has an edge in submissions, but GSP is the best functional wrestler in MMA right now. And that combined with his physical gifts means hes probably got an edge in every stage of the fight.

    Georges St Pierre has the better stand up game. GSP will enjoy a reach advantage as he has a 76"" reach while BJ has only 70"". As dominant as BJ's Jiu Jitsu is GSP's wrestling is just as dominant. Josh Koscheck was considered the best wrestler in MMA and GSP out wrestled him. BJ Penn is a great fighter don't get me wrong. But GSP is just too good, he can either win in stand up or take BJ down and ground and pound. If GSP ends up on his back then he's screwed but I don't see that happening; his take down defense is world class. He also has a great base for ground and pound if he gets on top I don't see BJ sweeping him.

    i think bj penn won the fight he controled him the whole fight but you cant leave it in the judges hands. it will be a differant fight bj penn is in shape this time and a he is hard to beat when he is not in shape but you cant count gsp out his striking is way better now then it was then. its going to be a tough fight i am giving the edge to bj but if it goes to a decion it will be gsp.

    gsp is a great fighter, this is apparent. if there is anyone out there who says he's not a great fighter ALL AROUND, you're hallucinating. he's a very well-rounded opponent for BJ, but i think BJ has the advantage. BJ's in the greatest shape of his life. he may have been ""tubby"" before, but he's definitely showing up for his fights now. he's been training hardcore, eating right, and working his cardio. plus, his flexibility is off the chain! nobody can hang with BJ when it comes to flexibility, and (deny it all you want) it's a huge advantage for him. he uses his legs like arms, and his ground game is INSANE! gsp may have great ground game, but he is no match for BJ there. gsp's standup is incredible, but BJ has been strengthening his standup, and has phenomenal skills. his chin is untouchable, so gsp definitely won't knock him out. it will be a great fight, but i give it to BJ by submission. sorry, guys. it just seems obvious to me.

    LMFAO BJ is in a lose lose situation, hes not as fast, not as strong, not as good as GSP, BJ has great cardio in 155lbs, but he has to lose some of that cardio to add weight if not then GSP will throw him around like a lil bitch, but if BJ increases the weight to stay somewhat decent with GSP's weight he loses his cardio. Penn is amazing, but hes no where near what GSP is, GSP has been in the ufc for 4 yrs, twice WW champ and hes the only man to have beatin every man hes fought WOW, the only man to have passed Fitchs guard WOW. Greg Jackson was disspointed after the win VS Fitch saying GSP made many mistakes and that if we thought GSP was good, ""you havnt seen anything yet"" OUCH, Fitch even said hes so fast it took him 5 mins to figure out ""i cant stand with him"" coulndt take him down bc noone can take GSP down & if they do its for 40 secs.... gSP has fought over 135 mins and less then 6 mins on his back OUCH. Like Fitch said, after the fight u cant take GSP down bc of his hips, ""god given talent, noone can learn, u have it or not"" there arnt many others who have it. As well as Reshad Evans trains with GSP and said when they wrestle GSP is always on top, the only way they can get GSP on his back is when they start off with GSP on his back, YET GSP has no wrestling backround. Watch the GSP VS Fitch fight and listen to the comments they give GSP. Even Dana White said ""I think BJ should stick to the LW division, b/c GSP is only getting better and stronger every fight"" Dana and BJ are boyfreinds 4 god sakes. BJ will not know what hit him when GSP strikes, ask Fitch. Look @ the 1st fight with GSP & BJ GSP took him down at will, the same will happend and if he gets on top of BJ its all over, GSP will not get cought in a submission, too smart and to strong. BJ is in his prime GSP still has yet to get there, but is on an incredible pace to get there. GSP is 27 the youngest Champ in the UFC by 4 yrs or more.... and look at GSP's resume compared to anyone else their first 4 yrs in the UFC, noone can touch who he fought. Everyone talks about Serra KO'd him, which wasnt true, GSP taped, and the punch Serra cought him with was side of the head or temple cant remember but it wasnt in the face. GSP took Seraa 4 granted Serra won (lucky) but still won regardless, but what happend the 2nd time around? never even got a punch at GSP. Last thing, go and check out GSP's stats after his loss to Serra, never lost 1 round, has dominated rounds 10-8 and prety much dominated everyone he fought I would like to see BJ fight Fitch, Thiago Silva, Koscheck, even Diego 4 a laugh, and see how he does VS them. Over all should be a good fight, but GSP is 10X better than he was b4, and has way more options in his toolbox than BJ, cant wait to see what xcuses u BJ fans will come up with after he gets RUSHED and doesnt even know what happend. BJ stick to 155, bc u dont belong in the 170lbs and GSP will prove it. I will bet everythign I have and my life that GSP will shock everyone with how he will win and in such a short time, 3rd or 4th round MAX if BJ is lucky.     BJ took round one. GSP controlled both round two and three. landing more SOLID strikes and pressuring the fight. The next time they meet up BJ better come more in shape. BJ's striking is solid and his ground game is ridiculous, but GSP has the better mentality and the fight will likely come down to who will work harder.

    I don't think GPS's standup is better than Penn's. Penn has great boxing skills and good kicks and knees, which they help him neutralize attacks, especially his Jab, look what he did to Sherk who is also a power wrestler + Penn has a hard head and good chin, Gsp not so much, look what Matt Serra did to him. On the other side GSP's takedown ability and his GNP is awesome, he always makes you pay when he is on top, he destroyed Fitch. I think this fight could go either way, but I don't know maybe GSP 55% and Penn 45% win chance.

    GSP is bigger, stronger, more athletic... BJ is a gift from god with all the skills and now that he's more serious about his fights and training... GSP will lose this one (Im a big GSP fan... but a bigger BJ fan... stand and ground game goes to BJ... athletisism, goes to GSP... BJ will submit GSP... GSP will not want to stand up with BJ again (as you can see on their last fight, GSP was hospitalized)... GSP will try to take BJ down but BJ will eventually be on top... therefore submitting GSP...

    Anybody who says that either opponent is going to run over the other is delusional. They are very evenly matched as seen in the first fight. I belive that GSP is stronger and a better athelete then BJ however I think that BJ is slightly more skilled and dangerous. Either way we will all win becuase it has the potential of being one of the greatest matchups of all time.

    that was truly a great fight. I would love to be one of the judges. I believe gsp took it though, but it could have easily gone to BJ. Today, I'd have to go with GSP. He's mean now, not as fancy as before.

    Anderson Silva is the best fighter in the world. Im from hawaii and love BJ, but he did get beat twice by GSP. I would like a third one to go down, but I dont think it will happen.
