This news was already posted by fellow lowkick.com user "MMAW", so I'm not going to write about it. I just wanted to creat this poll to see how many people agree/dissagree with this decision

Yes.. The thing is, these fighters get paid win or lose. Now, I am not saying that Jardine is the type of guy to go out and not care about losing as long as he gets a paycheck, but they gotta draw the line somewhere.

If he signs with SF that means he won't back in the UFC for a while, like Dana says:go to the smaller organizations get a couple of wins then you're back, didn't Dana said that Karo Parisyan would never fight in the UFC?well if Karo wins he's back,we all know that Dana talks out of his ass,so don't sign with SF keith!

this is what's wrong with the ufc. i'm not a big jardine fan, but the dude has always come to fight and has always put on a good show and has sometimes even suprised the shit out of us. the pressure to win is too much emphasize with these athletes. there not trying to lose. jardine has fought some of the best dudes and has beat some of them. i wasn't real excited to see he was a main event against a deaf dude, but i ended up enjoying that fight the most. it takes two combatants to make a good fight and you can always count on jardine. and another thing. if these main events are so phucking good, why does the loser keep getting fired. a main event fighter shouldn't get fire or they shouldn't been in the main event anyway. coleman, iceman, and now jardine. what's up with that crap there trying to feed us.

Its a sport, not just for your entertainment. If a quarterback loses his arm, you don't keep him just because he shows up to play every Sunday.... Or because people like him and enjoy watching him. No, you cut his ass so a new, young, up and comer can step in and have his turn in the pros.

Man, are you an MMA fan of what, weeks...? First of all, you shouldnt refer yourself of Matt Hamil as "a deaf dude" its plain rude and you wouldnt say that to his face im sure... Second, UFC its the MMA elite "division", meaning only the best may fight here. Right now, its overflowing with great fighters, all with great skill and talent, therefore not all can stay at this organization, some have to leave to make room for others. As Dana says, you win some fights in another organization and maybe you get back in the UFC. About the "main" fighters you mentioned: Jardine lost his 4 last fights in a total of 6 losses in his last 8, clearly he needs to figure some things out, right now theres a lot of LHW who are much better than him; Coleman is past his 40's, the only guy I know who can steal compete at this age its Couture which is a force of nature, Coleman its not; now Chuck Liddel, the Iceman - personally I dont want to see him get beat up again. The man his a legend. Ive followed his MMA career since start and he was one of the best fighters in the World. Seeing him get beat up like he has in the last fights is heart breaking, the man his a legend. IMO, its a good decision for him not to fight anymore, he has lots of other stuff to do in the UFC, the man his an icon of the sport. So all in all, I think the layofs are necessary and good management decisions...

a main event fighter should not be in danger of losing his job or he should not have been in the main event to begin with period.

No, not really. There's main event fighters that re there because theire popular, not their "real" ability. And theire not losing theire job, they have contracts that end and the UFC dont want to renew them.
And another thing: if, as many people say, the UFC was all about money and profits, I assure they wouldn't cut all this popular guys, specially the biggest superstar in MMA, the Iceman.

I would rather pay to see Jardine have a real good tear up for the whole duration than watch A Silva clip his opponent a few times then run away for the second half of the fight. Not saying he shouldn't have dropped him or that silva should be dropped, but I know what i'd rather watch.

I say no, I personally think it's bullshit that the fighters are given the boot simply from losing. These guys work their asses off to compete win or lose. Then again I care more about honor than money, therefore I wouldn't make a good American business man lol. I think this is a big reason why a lot of fighters won't join the UFC, they're disposable.

"This is a big reason why a lot of fighters won't join the UFC, they're disposable." Uhhhh.... What fighters would that be? Last time I checked there was only one decent fighter that wouldnt join the UFC and we ALL know why that is.

@Valkyr: you need to see this from a different perspective: other fighters need an opportunity to show themselves. Since you cant have them all, some fighters need to go to give room for others. Jardine has fought a lot, won some good fights, got his name out there and even got some roles in some movies and tv series. For what is worth, he got fame and fortune from the UFC. Right now, he needs to rethink its career, workout some different fighting aproaches so he starts to win more fights, maybe focus in some other aspects of his game.
And btw, which fighters dont want to join the UFC...? The only one I can think of is Fedor, but thats mainly because his somewhat controlled by his country and they want to continue to carefully choose his opponents in order for him to beat somewhat "invincible"...
